Hogback Homestead

The Hogback Homestead, a fully furnished two story log cabin, is situated on approximately five acres along Hogback Creek. It has three bedrooms, kitchen, living room, and dining room. It is heated with a wood stove and is equipped with propane lights and cook stove. This homestead, built in 1917 as a permanent home, provides renters an opportunity to experience the setting and lifestyle of the early 1900s.

General Information

Two-stories, three bedrooms, propane cooking range, propane lighting, wood stove (heat), and furnished. Bring your own bedding/linens & cleaning supplies. Drinking water may not always be available. First floor is wheelchair accessible. Outdoor fire ring available.

April 1 - November 30

Check-in is at 3 p.m. and check-out is at 11 a.m. Closed December 1-April 1 annually.

$75 per night. Reservations required through Recreation.gov.

Directions

From Interstate 90 take the Rock Creek Road (exit #126) south for 29 miles OR follow Scenic Highway 1 south to Philipsburg. 1 mile before Philipsburg, turn right (west) onto State Road #348. Travel 13 miles, cross Rock Creek and turn right (north) onto Rock Creek Road #102. Travel 10 miles north to the Hogback Homestead. Access via the Drummond (Highway 1) exit is regularly plowed within 2 miles of the cabin. Four-wheel drive with chains, skis or snowshoes are recommended for early spring and late fall access.
