Second Creek Trailhead

The Second Creek Trailhead is located just north of Berthoud Pass and provides access to the Vasquez Wilderness.

Second Creek Trail (#137)

This 2-mile (one-way) trail begins at the Second Creek Trailhead and enters the forest. About a mile in, hikers will reach the Broome Hut. Just past the Broome Hut, the trail enters the Vasquez Peak Wilderness and begins to climb into alpine. The trail eventually meets with the Mt. Nystrom Trail (#13), which continues east to the Winter Park Resort.

Directions

From I-70, exit onto Hwy 40 at Empire to Berthoud Pass. Continue down Hwy 40 for several miles. The Second Creek Trailhead is on the left.

Parking is limited.
