Baldy Peak #216.1A

The Baldy Peak Trail #216.1A begins at its intersection with the Baldy Trail #216 and ends at Baldy Peak. The trail branches off the Baldy Trail at approximately 1.7 miles and climbs the top of Baldy Peak which rises 10,603 feet. The elevation gain is approximately 103 feet. There are great views of the Uncompahgre Plateau that extend as far north as the Grand Mesa.

Directions

From Ouray:

Travel north on Hwy 550 for approximately 1.7 miles to the intersection with County Road 14, Dexter Creek Road. Turn right onto CR 14 and continue for approximately 1 mile to the fork in the road, take the left fork onto CR 14A. Follow CR 14A, which becomes Forest Service Road #872 at the National Forest boundary, for approximately 1.5 miles to the intersection with FSR #872.1B. Turn left onto FSR 872.1B and continue for approximately 0.3 miles to its end where the Baldy Trail begins. Follow the Baldy Trail for approximately 1.7 miles to the Baldy Peak Trail intersection.
