Jones Creek #812
The Jones Creek Trail begins at an intersection with the Clear Fork Trail and ends at the White River National Forest Boundary. When you enter the southern end of Jones Park, you will find that the Jones Creek Trail branches off to the west and follows Jones Creek for 5.1 miles through mostly aspen forest and big open parks. Along the lower portions of the trail you will be able to observe the work of beavers. Signs of old sheep camps and cattle grazing may also be observed as you make the gentle climb to the northwest past Elk Knob and on to the hydrologic divide. At the divide the trail enters the White River National Forest and continues on to the north. On this trail you are not likely to find many recreational travelers except during the fall hunting seasons. The trail receives enough use that it is generally easy to follow although it is not marked in most places.
