Terror #802

Terror Trail #802 begins at an access point on Forest Service Road 701, Stevens Gulch Road, and ends at Forest Service Road 704, Condemn It Park Road. The trail crosses Electric Mountain in a west to east direction. On the west end it uses an old jeep road that parallels the main Hubbard Creek for 2.5 miles. A sign indicates the point to leave the old road and begin the moderate ascent up Electric Mountain. Great 360 degree views are enjoyed from on top of the mountain. Spruce and aspen trees dominate the landscape. The Terror Creek goes into the heart of some great deer and elk habitat so these animals may be seen at any time. Domestic sheep and some cattle also use the area. The trail on the east side of the mountain is gentle except for the bottom 1/2 mile where there are six switchbacks in 250 vertical feet of elevation change. There is no off road parking space at the east trail entrance.
