Triangle Stomp #736

The Triangle Stomp Trail #736 serves as a connecting route between the Green Mountain Trail #719 and the Leon Lake Spur, FSR #127.1A.  The trail travels through Aspen, open meadow, and spruce/fir.  With the exception of a few areas in the trees, the trail is in good condition and is easy to ride.

Directions

UPPER ACCESS:       

Travel approximately 3.5 miles north of Cedaredge on Highway 65 to its intersection with County Road U50.  Turn right onto U50 and travel east for approximately 6.5 miles to the Grand Mesa National Forest boundary.  At the forest boundary there is a large gravel parking area and the beginning of Surface Creek Road, FSR #125 and Marcott Road, FSR #127.  Travel on  the Marcott Road for approximately 3.85 miles until the intersection with FSR #127 1A.   Turn right onto FSR #127.1A and travel for approximately 0.4 miles to the Upper Triangle Stomp Trailhead. 

LOWER ACCESS:

Travel approximately 3.5 miles north from Cedaredge on Highway 65 to County Road U50.  Turn right onto Road U50 and travel east and north for approximately 6.5 miles to the Grand Mesa National Forest Boundary where there is a large parking area.  At the northern edge of the gravel parking area the Marcott Road, FSR #127, forks right.  Turn right onto the Marcott Road and travel for approximately 2.2 miles to its intersection with the trailhead marker for the Green Mountain Trail #719.  Turn right (east) onto the Green Mountain Trail and travel approximately 1.5 miles to the intersection of the Green Mountain Trail and the Triangle Stomp Trail.
