Wilson Mesa #421
The Wilson Mesa Trail #421 begins at the Wilson Mesa Trailhead on County Road 63J and ends at the Woods Lakes Trailhead on Forest Service Road #618. This single track trail offers a favorite motorcycle and mountain bike ride in the Telluride area. It varies in elevation just 800 feet, yet offers plenty of challenging terrain for intermediate riders. This trail provides rushing rivers and waterfalls, and beautiful wildflowers as is travels through aspen forests. It passes Wilson Peak, rising 14,017 feet and many old mine remains along the way.

Directions
Wilson Mesa Trailhead East:
From Telluride: Travel west on State Highway 145 for approximately 5.7 miles to County Road 63L, Ilium Road/South Fork Road. Turn south on to CR 63L and continue for about 2.5 miles to County Road 63J, veer right and continue south on this road. Follow CR 63J for another 4.5 miles to its end at the Wilson Mesa Trailhead. The last mile of this road is steep and rocky. High clearance, four wheel drive vehicles are recommended.
Wilson Mesa Trailhead West:
From Telluride: Travel west on State Highway 145 for approximately 9 miles to Vanadium. Turn south onto County Road 60M, Silver Pick Road, and continue south for approximately 3.7 miles to the National Forest boundary. At the forest boundary CR 60M becomes Forest Service Road 622. Continue for about another 2.3 miles to the Trailhead on the west side of the road. To go west, follow FSR #645, Elk Creek Road, for approximately 1.7 to the intersection with the Wilson Mesa Trail #421.
Wood Lakes Trailhead:
From Telluride: Travel west on State Highway 145 for approximately 13 miles to County Road 57P, Fall Creek Road. Turn south onto CR 57P and continue for approximately 5.2 miles to the National Forest Boundary where CR 57P becomes Forest Service Road #618. Follow FSR #618 for another 3.3 miles to the Wood lakes Trailhead.
