Six Mile Campground

Located in a saddle above the North Platte River, providing access to the North Platte River and Platte River Wilderness Area, Six Mile Gap Campground is 2 miles off of Highway 230. The campground offers 9 sites, 3 of which are pull through sites. Sites offer picnic tables and fire grates, and potable water and trash services are available during summer months. Hiking and fishing opportunities abound during the open season of June - September.

General Information

SEASON: Weather can create a short season if there are late Spring snows and/or early Fall snows. Open mid-June to mid-September (varies due to snow, weather permitting) (Mid-September the campground gate closes for the winter.) STAY LIMIT: The

Directions

From Encampment take Highway 230 southeast for approximately 27 miles to Forest Road #492. Turn left onto 492 and travel two miles to Six Mile Campground.
