Upper Sarvis Creek Trailhead
This area serves as the upper access point for the Sarvis Creek Trail No. 1105. This 12.4 mile long trail in the Sarvis Creek Wilderness descends the Sarvis Creek drainage from its headwaters in Buffalo Park to its confluence with the Yampa River. The first few miles of trail pass through an area that was burned in the Silver Creek Fire of 2018. After about 5 miles the trail meets the main drainage of Sarvis Creek and continues downstream. Remnants of human occupation and historic logging can be spotted as the trail meanders through forest and open meadows. At 10 miles, a bridge crosses Sarvis Creek and the trail continues down to the Lower Sarvis Creek Trailhead.
There is no camping allowed within 100ft of the water or trail.
This area was hit hard by the Mountain Pine Beetle epidemic. Falling trees can pose a great safety risk to campers and hikers.
