2014 Pro-Cycyle challenge is a professional bike race with 128 entrants. The course varies each year utilizing US Highways, State and County roads as it crosses 4 National Forests this year between August 18 and 26.
Special use authorization is for Bicycle Tour of Colorado (BTC) to make temporary use of NFS lands on 3 National Forests within Colorado for ancillary aid stations with portable toilets, signs, trash facilities and support personnel
Classic Bicycle Racing LLC makes temporary use of NFS lands during 4 of the total 7 stages on four National Forests within Colorado for ancillary facilities such as staging areas with portable toilets, signs, barricades, message boards, and filming.
4-day bike race, with 2 - 3 days on Forest Service roads and trails. 9/24/21 would be in the Mt. Herman Road and Rampart Range Road area, and 9/25/21, and possibly 9/26/21, would be in the Gold Camp Road area, with up to 500 riders per day.
Install new vault toilet building at the Denny Creek and Avalanche Trailheads and two new vault toilet buildings in Coaldale Campground. Existing toilet buildings at these sites would additionally be decommissioned and removed.
The operator proposes to explore for and mine gemstones on approximately 5 acres of National Forest System lands managed by the South Park Ranger District, Pike-San Isabel National Forest. Legal description is T.12S, R.71W, Section 12, 6th P.M.
The operator is proposing to explore and mine for pegmatite gemstones in the Crystal Creek Mining Area near Lake George, CO. The operator will disturb appx. 0.4 acres of NFS lands, including 0.14 acres for non-system access.
The Pike/San Isabel National Forests and Cimarron/Comanche National Grasslands (PSICC)proposes to install eleven versa communication towers for government administrative use.
Issuance of a ten year outfitter and guide permit to Adventure Cycling Association to authorize multiple cycling tours to operate annually on National Forest System Lands across the Rocky Mountain Region.
Proposal to amend Sangre De Cristo Electric Association's master permit for a new electric service connection that includes 215 feet of overhead powerline
This project originally planned to occur on National Forest lands is cancelled and a new project that includes transmission line rebuild proposals on both National Forest and BLM lands will be posted at a later date.
The operator proposes to renew his Plan to explore for and mine gemstones on approximately 2 acres of NFS lands managed by the South Park Ranger District, Pike National Forest. Legal description is Section 10, T12S, R71W, 6th Principal Meridian.
Granting Chaffee County an initial permit followed by a permanent easement for access on FR 389. This would provide access to the Numbers put-in site located along the Arkansas River.
Trench and bury approximately 0.6 miles of new water pipeline to provide water to an existing livestock water tank in the Athens allotment. The majority of the project will occur in the adjacent Bandito Allotment.
The primary purpose of the project is to return fire to the vegetation communities within the project area which would improve timber stands, wildlife habitat, and rangeland conditions.
Construct a new 520' trail from the Baker Creek Trail (NFST 1301) to the Cuchara Mountain Park. The Cuchara Mountain Park will connect the trail to their public parking area.
Travel management, recreation, fish and wildlife habitat improvement, and other activities in the Bear Creek watershed and adjacent watersheds (proposed action revised in Feb 2014)
This project proposes to install a "Gazex" remote exploder system on National Forest System Lands in the Big Slide Area near Monarch Pass to be utilized for avalanche mitigation along the U.S. Highway 50 corridor.
The Forest Service proposes to delineate a parking area (PA) for the Black Cloud TH, which provides access to Mt Elbert by repairing the existing PA, installing buck/rail fence to mitigate off-route travel, and installing an informational kiosk.
The purpose of this project is to authorize activities to continue mineral exploration on an existing mineral right. The proposal is a renewal of the current Plan of Operations with no proposed changes.
The Bootleg Campground site furnishings were proposed for removal however, this proposal is cancelled at this time and would be evaluated at a later date.
Construct new office space (~3,212 sq. ft.) and additional engine bay space (~516 sq.ft.) on the existing Engine Storage building. The total area of disturbance would be approx. 0.8 acre, all within the work center site.
Reissuance of a SUP for the Kim Compressor Station - issued to Colorado Interstate Gas Company, and including a new route for buried powerline within the existing permit area
The USFS is considering a proposal by CO Springs Utilities for an SUP (to replace their expired LDV 10048) to install & use a log boom to maintain water intake at their Twin lakes facility. Installation would include excavation & material hauling.
Watershed restoration activities are proposed in the Badger Creek watershed in order to impede erosive processes, mitigate head-cuts and stream down-cutting, reduce sediment flow into the channel, and, promote overall stream health.
Assembled Land exchange on the Pike and San Isabel National Forests. Approximately 291.55 acres of federal land in exchange for 246.98 acres of private land.
Cellular Inc. Network Corp., d.b.a Verizon, proposes an amendment to their SUA to remove a 1000 gal. propane tank & generator and install a 50-kW diesel generator housed in a new 12x12 shelter at the Methodist Mountain Comm. Site on NFS Lands.
The operator and claimant are proposing to renew their MPO for an additional 5 years. Their MPO authorizes them to explore for and mine aquamarine, quartz, topaz, fluorite, and or other minerals with mechanized equipment.
The proposal would restore approx. 24.0 acres of NFS lands utilizing appx. 524,000 cubic yds of NFS fill material to backfill the quarry and stabilize the landslides, along with the complete revegetatation of the site by seeding and tree planting.
The Forest Service proposes to use prescribed fire, mechanical and/or hand-thinning in multiple fuel-types on approximately 2,800 acres of NFS lands in order to reduce hazardous fuels and provide for forest resiliency against insect and disease.
Cabin Cove (aka Gunderman) Cabin, built in the 1950's has a large maintenance backlog. The proposal is to place the cabin, garage and 4.9 acres of adjacent land under a Granger-Thye Special Use Permit to CFI for the maximum term.
CPAW has proposed to rehabilitate and restore the existing launch site and old access road. They will construct a new launch site on CPAW property. They will utilize national forest system lands for access and parking to support the new launch site
Proposal to issue a new 10-year priority outfitter/guide permit to Colorado Powersports Rentals and Sales for 1,120 guided OHV tours and 1,680 OHV rental deliveries annually on Forest Service system roads in the Rainbow Falls and North Divide areas
100 mile, 100k, and 50k running race on Forest Roads 370, 383, Pikes Peak Highway and Forest Trails 624, 665, 666, 667, 668, 671, 672, 652, 620, 701, 753, 776, and 785 with 500-1,000 participants on 8/8/20 at 6:00 am through 8/9/20 at 12 pm.
Colorado Trail #1776: Construction of approximately 4.5 miles of trail. The new proposed 4.5 miles of trail will be within USDA Forest Service trail standard guidelines.
Replacement of the culverts at Corral Creek and Molly Gulch with new drainage structures better able to accommodate fish passage and limit sediment transport.
Closure of an abandoned mine shaft 5 feet wide and 20 feet deep at the Crescent Mine. (Includes associated road rehabilitation and reroute.) Relocate the first 400 ft of Forest System Rd 381 (Clohsey Lake). Purpose of relocation is to improve safety.
The South Platte Ranger District of the Pike National Forest is proposing to treat up to 10,000 forested acres in Jefferson and Park counties. The project would restore portions of the Crossons-Longview area to more historic conditions.
Vegetation treatments are proposed on approximately 3,000 acres of National Forest System Lands in the Spanish Peaks area to reduce hazardous fuels, create a more open forest structure & create fuel breaks near private lands and infrastructure.
There is a need to modify the current Forest Order due to potentially hazardous post-fire conditions. The modification would be to allow limited access on NFSR 101 and 108,and, prohibit camping in the fire area.
Forest Service is proposing to authorize the Campo Grazing Association to install 10,560 feet of 1-1/4 inch PVC water pipeline in Unit 2 of the Deweese Allotment.
Build two off road practice areas totaling 11.3 acres for OHV use in the area of the Dutch Fred trailhead, reroute part of trail. This action was previously scoped as part of "Single Track NFS Trail 770 Extension & Training Area Construction" project
Access to an inholding off of NFSR 212 in the Spruce Creek drainage. The driveway will be 256 feet long by 12 feet wide. The driveway exists, this effort is to get it under permit.
Approximately 1750 acres of NF lands, consisting of ponderosa pine, mixed conifer, and grass/shrub lands, will be analyzed for fuels mitigation treatments to reduce risk to two subdivisons and other private land parcels.
Replace the existing 100-foot guided tower (tower with guidelines) with a 100-ft free-standing, self-supported tower at the existing Forest Service Elkhart Repeater site.
There is a need to increase parking capacity at existing trailheads to provide for increasing visitor use and to provide opportunities for users with different space requirements. The project changed to three trailheads.
Fourmile Area - Midland Trail Extension: New trail construction (0.75 miles) and Vitamin B: New trail construction and re-route of existing trail (5.3 miles)
The project aims to mitigate past land use impacts to stream health and function by installing structures that would restore the floodplain connection and mimick the natural driving forces of riparian vegetation and beavers.
The Forest Service was a cooperating agency, assisting the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in that Agency's geothermal leasing analysis and decision. The BLM issued a record of decision on 12/17/2008.
Consider the proposal to permit the City of Colorado Springs to close gates and restrict access to Gold Camp Road during park closure hours and conduct routine maintenance on the road segment.
Develop and analyze alternatives for future management of an 8.5 mile section of Gold Camp Road that is currently closed due to the collapse of a tunnel. 2nd decision was appealed, and was reversed by the Reg. Office. No further action is proposed.
Colorado Central Telecom is proposing new construction to add a 40' tower and 6'x10' shed with .03 new disturbance. AT&T plans to replace their existing tower with a new tower. T-Mobile plans to add a new 6'x10' equipment shed.
This project proposes to replace an existing culvert on Forest Service Road 110 (Halfmoon Road) that crosses Halfmoon Creek at the Mount Massive trailhead. This includes moving the culvert, realigning the road and trail and adjusting the parking.
Unregulated dispersed camping along NFSR 110 has caused resource damage to soils, water & vegetation. The FS proposes to designate sustainable campsites & parking areas, and, close & rehabilitate damaged sites & non-system, user created trails.
Modify existing travel management system and to better define and implement recreation opportunities to accommodate a range of current and anticipated uses while providing balance with the protection of the resources.
Proposal to install 1,500 Gal concrete holding vault tanks at camp host sites in the Purgatoire, Ophir, Bear and Blue Lakes Campgrounds on the San Carlos District.
Commercially thin approx. 569 acres to reduce stand density and reduce hazardous fuel conditions while increasing stand vigor and health and return the stand to a more historical ponderosa pine regime.
The Forest Service proposes to issue an amendment to an existing special use authorization for IREA to operate, maintain and rebuild 1.48-miles of existing overhead electrical distribution line on NFS lands.
IREA proposes to rebuild and upgrade an existing 44-kilovolt(kV) transmission line to 115 kV from the west side of Kenosha Pass near Jefferson, CO to the Roberts Tunnel Power Generation Station near Grant, CO.
IREA is proposing to rebuild approximately 14,431 linear feet of existing powerline that provides electric service to residents in the Spring Creek Ranch area. On private land an additional 7,811 feet would be rebuilt as part of the project.
FS proposes to install a 5'x5', prefabricated bat condo to provide a suitable maternity roosting site and subsequently exclude bats from roosting in the Dexter cabin.
Re-issuance of Outfitter Guide Special Use Permits: 1.)Carmichael Training Systems - mountain bike training camp - with 300 Service days on system roads and trails. 2.)Water Walker Guiding- fishing on Twin and Turquoise Lakes with 350 service days.
Issue priority outfitter and guide special use permits to Greenbrier Outfitters Inc., U.S. Airforce Academy Outdoor Adventure Program and Enduro Ranch, LLC, and renew the American Christian College dba Summit Ministries Priority Permit and Camp Elim.
Issue a priority outfitter and guide permit to Storm Peak Outfitters for guided deer, elk, bear, mountain lion, and turkey day hunting in GMU 511 and the southern end of GMU 51 on the Pikes Peak Ranger District.
Issue new priority outfitter and guide permit to Great Outdoors Adventures for guided OHV and e-bike tours and OHV and e-bike rental delivery for up to 4,000 service days annually.
Issue 5-year recreation event permit for the Pikes Peak Challenge for the 2nd Saturday in September for up to 450 participants, and the Pikes Peak Ultra for the last Saturday in July for up to 500 participants
The Jennie June Road Users Association have requested a special use authorization for use and maintenance of a road and winter access route on NFS Lands in order to access private property. The proposal is in Colorado Roadless Areas.
The operator proposes to hand tools to excavate prospect pits of 2 feet x 3 feet x 2 feet that will remain open for a maximum of 3 days over 5 years. The mining operations use two non-system access routes, 8ft x 1400ft cumulatively.
The Forest Service is proposing to authorize the operator a plan of operations to explore for and mine amazonite, smoky quartz and other pegmatite minerals using mechanized equipment.
The operator and agent propose exploring for and mining amazonite, smoky quartz, and other pegmatite crystals on the LGPD #2-3 unpatented mining claim using mechanized equipment. Access will be on a non-system road through private property.
A .75 mile change in the course for the Leadville 100 Foot Race to avoid private property by utilizing FS Trail #1776 and FS Road 390 A. The Leadville 100 Foot Race is scheduled for the third Saturday in August with up to 800 participants.
The Lake County BOCC have requested a special use permit from the FS to maintain and use their decreed water right, 98CW173, from the state of CO that occurs on NFS Lands. The proposal includes installation of a flume, headgate, and water pipeline.
The FS proposes to construct a trailhead with a parking area near the junction of NFSR 198 (Lake Creek) and NFSR 337 in order to maintain motorized access (that may be lost in a current land exchange) into the Sangre de Cristos.
This project proposes using natural river restoration techniques to restore channel geometry, increase fisheries habitat, mitigate unstable banks, areas of accelerated erosion and abnormal sediment transport, and, improve natural stream features.
The objective is primarily hazardous fuels mitigation through prescribed burning and mechanical thinning. Most locations involve WUI. Other benefits may include firewood generation, minor commercial forest products, and wildlife habitat improvements.
The Forest Service proposes to remove an abandoned, inoperable low head dam on NFS lands in order to improve overall watershed condition and expand fish passage within the South Platte River.
The FS and proponents will evaluate the existing trails at Lake Isabel to improve ADA accessibility, add trails to the designated trail system, and repair existing trails and trail structures including bridges, retaining walls and fishing piers.
Reissue special use permit to North Fork Fire Protection District for Fire Station #1. New permit to expire 12/31/36. Reissue new communication lease to American Tower Management for the communication tower located at Devils Head Communication Site.
Proposal to issue priority outfitter guide permits to Apex Mountain School and Sawatch Backcountry Guides as well as a five year recreation event permit to Colorado Mountain Mushers on the Leadville Ranger District.
The Forest Service proposes to utilize portions of a user-created trail and build new trail, where needed, to create a new NF system route to Lost Lake. The proposal includes designating a trailhead, parking area and restroom.
The Forest Service is proposing to authorize the operator a plan of operations to explore for and mine amazonite, smoky quartz and other pegmatite minerals using mechanized equipment.
USFS proposes to breach the southern dam using machinery or high power water to comply with a written order issued to the USFS from the CDWR. This may involve improvement to NFST 1455 including tree removal/limbing for access.
Proposed improvements including replacing the bridge over the dam, raising portions of the boardwalk, repairing erosion on the dam face and on the shoreline, widening and hardening the Manitou Lake Tr, constructing hardened paths, replacing benches
To reflect a property ownership change from R. White to J. Mattson, the Forest Service proposes to re-issue a special use permit for an existing buried water pipeline of approximately 233 feet in length and a shallow water collection box.
The Forest Service proposes to amend a Special Use Permit (CIM 101) by allowing the proponent to install approximately 600 ft of new injection (water) line to connect their Pearson C-2 well site with their existing injection line
Install 3,400 ft of 1 ďż˝ inch water pipeline from existing solar well in Mesa view allotment into Palmona Allotment to provide better distribution of livestock.
Conifer thinning & removal through mechanical treatments & prescribed burning is proposed in order to 1)diversify forest structure, 2)improve forest & watershed health, 3)improve winter range, and 4)reduce the risk of large wildfires near Salida, CO.
Due to an avalanche in 2019 and a landslide in 2022, trail realignment and/or reconstruction are necessary to locate the trail in a sustainable location away from a waterway. Rerouting or reconstruction of up to 3/4 of a mile trail are proposed.
Twenty five former mine features pose an unsafe risk to the general public in terms of physical safety hazards. Reclamation efforts will promote growth of native plant species on previously compacted soil.
Special uses permittee, American Towers LLC, proposes to install a standby diesel generator at this communication site. New improvements would include: 8' x 6' concrete pad; underground power/communication conduit from pad to the existing building.
1.75 mile single track addition to the Monarch Crest Trail #531 connecting to Marshall Pass along with an improved trail head at Hutchinson Cabin. 0.5 mile reroute on the Monarch Crest Trail #531 north of the Green Creek junction with Monarch Crest
The Forest Service is responding to Monarch Mountains request to amend their existing SUP to update the main Crest facility, add an electrical volt (EV) charger, install a storage shed, repair a retaining wall and updating the tram facility.
This project proposes to add 250 parking spaces to the main lot at Monarch Mountain Ski area. Project activities include tree removal, grading & relocation of the lot access road, and, relocation of two buildings used in avalanche control.
The FS is considering a proposal to construct a 2,000-square foot deck near a historic lift cabin and food service station to expand their mid-mountain food and beverage services. The proposal includes adding a double vault toilet at this location.
Monarch Mountain (dba PowderMonarch LLC) proposes to remove a temporary storage tent and build a 1137 sq. ft. structure on NFS Lands. The building will be used to house the Ski & Ride School Department along with ski valet/storage area.
The USFS proposes to renovate a 65-year-old campground to include rehabilitating unsustainable sites, adding sites & facilities, and adding ADA-accessibile facilities while keeping with the rustic character of semi-primitive, motorized camping.
Due to increasing demand for winter recreation activities, the FS proposes to develop up to 5 miles of marked ski trails for cross country & skate skiing, snowshoeing, & fat-tire biking in the headwaters of Monarch Park near Monarch Pass.
The FS is considering a proposal to install two ticketing kiosks at the base of the mountain, and, install ticket check gates or wands at six of the ski lifts. The purpose of the project is to provide easier and more efficient lift access to skiers.
The project proposes the installation of a handle tow ski lift, 706-square foot yurt, storage facilities, two hydrants and diversion ditch on National Forest System Lands within the Monarch Ski Area permitted use boundary.
The FS is considering a proposal to install a 4,000-square foot metal building adjacent to the existing base-located maintenance facility to store and maintain %u201Csnowcat%u201D machines in support of skier services and mountain operations.
Establish sustainable trails along the three primary access routes to the summit of Mt. Elbert through realignment and/or reconstruction. Restoration of multiple user-created paths. Trail maintenance will occur over the life of the trail.
Ultra-trail running event for elite runners with up to 125 participants on a 50-mile course/2 loops beginning on 2/16/21; a 100-mile course/4 loops beginning on 2/15/21; or a 200-mile course/8 loops beginning on 7/14/21. All courses end 6 pm 7/18/21
The project would construct 0.5 miles of new, rerouted trail in order to provide an environmentally sustainable and well-defined route to Mt. Princeton. The proposal includes 0.5 miles of user-created trail obliteration and rehabilitation.
Trail #1428 provides hikers with access to the summits of Mt. Shavano and Tabeguache Peak. This project is needed due to trail widening, erosion, and braiding high rec use and user-created routes causing impacts to alpine plants and soils.
Morton County Grazing Association is proposing to remove and replace existing range improvements. These include 21 stock tanks,4 water wells, and 1 pipeline.
NFSR 203 lies adjacent to Poncha Creek causing impacts to riparian resources and public safety. This project is canceled because it will be incorporated into nearby safety and reclamation actions and no longer requires a separate analysis.
A portion of NFSR 390 was damaged by spring 2019 runoff leaving the road unsafe for two-way vehicle travel. The FS proposes to reroute approx. 0.2 miles of road, install culverts and erosion control where needed in order to provide safe access.
Issue new 10-year outfitter guide special use permits to holders with currently expired permits. Activities include horseback riding, hiking, fishing, mountain bike riding, rock climbing, backpacking, jeep tours and driving instruction, and hunting.
To improve non-motorized trail connectivity and access to National Forest System lands adjacent to Staunton State Park. Phase I of the North Elk Creek trail was completed in 2018. Phase II seeks to complete the lower segment of this trail.
Analysis to authorize the reissuance of a Special Use Permit to the current permit holder (Upper Arkansas Water Conservation District) for a term of 20 years for two water storage facilities: O'Haver and North Fork Reservoir.
The Forest Service is responding to Monarch Mountains request to amend their existing SUP to build an Annex building, add garage doors to the loading dock, install an electronic entrance gate, and add a machine storage facility.
Sangre Snow Runners Snowmobile Club, FS permit-holders, have proposed expanding this parking area by 0.5 acres to help provide for public safety along NFSR 360, and, to support permitted winter recreation activities.
The Leadville RD is considering a request for approval of a Mine Plan of Operations to implement exploration and mining activities on NFS lands. The proposal includes one-acre of suction dredging and hand-auger drilling to be reclaimed at season end.
Colorado Springs Utilities is proposing to build a 57' x 32' storage building to replace two small open-front storage sheds at their Otero Pump Station facility at 37200 N. Hwy 24, Buena Vista, CO.
Proposal to amend permit to remove and replace a wooden powerline pole at 38.474965, -106.002925 with a taller pole and run an underground primary 1440 Volt line. The line will be buried under National Forest System Road 108.
4 day bicycle race using Forest Roads 300, 307, 310, 370, 379, 381, and High Drive, and Forest Trails 624, 626, 665, 667, 668, 700, 700.A, 701, 714, 723, and 776, with up to 350 riders on 9/24-27/20. 2-3 days would be on National Forest routes.
Re-issue a 5-year recreation event permit for the annual Pikes Peak Ascent and Marathon on Barr Trail, #620. The Ascent and Marathon are held on the 3rd weekend in August with up to 1800 participants in the Ascent and 800 participants in the Marathon
Convert 10 existing transitional priority outfitter and guide permits to 10-year priority special use permits and evaluate several proposals for new 10-year priority permits
The City of Colorado Springs proposes to reconstruct facilities on the summit of Pikes Peak. The project emphasizes protection of heritage resources and the National Historic Landmark status, alpine tundra restoration and interpretive elements.
Mechanical and prescribed fire treatments in mixed conifer, ponderosa pine and aspen. Management of recreation opportunities including disperse camping and re-routes of the Rainbow Trail.
The USFS proposes to replace the dysfunctional restroom facilities with two new "CXT" vault toilets. Actions would include demolition/removal of the old toilets with machinery, earthwork to dig new vaults, and removal of a few trees.
Re-issue 5-year recreation event special use permit for the annual Pony Express Trail Run on the Rainbow Gulch (#714) and Rampart Reservoir (#700) Trails on the third Sunday in September with up to 150 participants.
To provide access to the Rainbow Trail and the Sangre de Cristo Wilderness, the FS proposes to construct approx. 0.7 miles of trail and utilize 1-mile of an existing admin-use-only route to access the RT.
The Forest Service proposes to build a 0.24-mile trail from Printer Boy CG to the Belle of Colorado access road to provide a safer alternative to CR9 to access Turquoise Lake from the CG.
Proposal to issue three special use authorizations (Adams, Myers, Peters) for a new term to allow continued use and maintenance of existing roadways that access private lands.
The proposal is to authorize the operator a plan of operations for mining. The operator proposes to use hand tools to excavate and develop a previously back-filled mine shaft.
Trail alignment and improvements to meet Forest Service Trail Accessibility Guidelines (FSTAG) to allow more access to assistive devices. This work would seek to increase tread width and incorporate more passing and resting zones along trail.
The proposed amendment is to pull a 144 F fiber optic cable, approx. 105,000 long, 2%u201D in wide (4.8 acres) through existing conduit (installed by Federal Lands Highway Commission) within an existing right-of-way adjacent to County Road 306.

The proponent would conduct an exploration drilling project of six 1,000-foot horizontal drill holes (HQ core, 2.5-inch ID). Drilling will occur from three drill pads; drill pads will be approximately 30feet x 40feet.

Changing National Forest System Road (FSR) 669.2c from maintenance level 2 open to the public motorized to maintenance level 2 USFS administration. FSR 669.2c will remain open to non-motorized recreation opportunities.
The project will relocate the Rock Creek trailhead to the Colorado Trail junction on NFSR 133 for sustainability. NFSRs 814 and 133 would be closed beyond the trailhead. Restoration activities will take place along the Rock Creek riparian corridor.

The Tennessee Pass Nordic Center (TPNC) uses snowmobiles for access and to groom trails on NFS Lands through a special use permit. TPNC proposes to clear trees to create a 1 mile, over-the-snow (no summer use) trail to access their developed sites.

This project would convert an existing Forest Service System Road (182) into a Forest Service System Trail (182) and restore a number of road-related resource issues. The existing trailhead parking area would be clearly defined and signs installed.
The physical closure of 24 abandoned, inactive mine features such as open adits and shafts which pose the greatest physical hazard to the public. The closures include actions to restore, reclaim, abate, control, or prevent the adverse effects.

Tri-State Generation and Transmission has submitted a proposal for a Special Use Authorization for use & occupancy of an existing 230 kV transmission line on NFS lands. The special use permit would replace Tri-States expired permit for this line.
Pikes Peak Ranger District proposes to reduce hazardous fuels in the Turkey Tracks Hills area using a series of prescribed burns. Burns would be conducted on intervals, and units re-burned as needed depending on the nature of the fuels.
This project proposes to build an Amphitheatre near the Turquoise Lake Nature Trail Parking lot on the PSICC. The Amphitheatre will provide seating for approximately 40 people and a stage for presenters to offer interpretive talks to the public.
The FS will analyze a proposal from Cloud City Wheelers to construct ~11.5 miles of new bike trails near Turquoise Lake. The single-track would be built with machinery or by hand after timber removal associated with the TN Creek project ceases.
The Forest proposes to replace the twenty flush toilets with up to twenty-six new vault toilets, and to eventually add additional toilet buildings. These new toilets will be state-of-the art, and will be fully accessible to people with disabilities.

The operator has submitted a proposal to explore for and mine pegmatite gemstones in Lake George, Colorado. Operations are accessed on 2 non-system roads. Excavations will be done with hand tools. Maximum disturbance is 100 cubic yards per year.
The proposed action is to effectively treat up to 31,700 acres within the 70,600 acre analysis area. Combinations of mechanical thinning with product removal, mastication, hand thinning, and prescribed fire will move toward the desired conditions.
