Bridge Crossing Picnic Area

This is a nice picnic area along the South Platte River and off of Jefferson County Road 67. There is no host on-site. The host is at Lone Rock Campground about 3.5 miles south from picnic area.

No campfires at the site; pedestal grills are available.

General Information

Although open year round, access during the winter may be limited due to snow.

The following restrictions apply to this picnic site:
  • Overnight use prohibited.
  • No campfires, pedestal grills are available.
  • Pack it in; pack it out.

There is a day use fee of $11. Fees are payable by check or money order. Self-servicing fee tube is available. The Interagency Senior Pass and the Interagency Access Pass qualifies for a 50% discount with proper ID.

Directions

There are two potential routes to access the Bridge Crossing picnic area from Denver:

The first route is to travel south on Highway 85/Santa Fe 10 miles to Sedalia, Colorado. Turn west on Highway 67 and travel past Sprucewood, Colorado, staying on Highway 67. When you get to the river road, continue south for 2 miles to Bridge Crossing Picnic Area.

The second route is to travel west on Highway 285 into the mountains to Pine Junction, Colorado. Turn south on Highway 126 and continue 22 miles to Deckers, Colorado. Turn left, heading north on Highway 67, and travel 4.5 miles to Bridge Crossing Picnic Area.
