Jefferson Lake Recreation Area

Jefferson Lake Recreation Area is a popular area for camping, picnicking, fishing and hiking. Campgrounds include: Aspen, Lodgepole and Jefferson Creek. They are not located directly on Jefferson Lake. For backpacking and day hiking, the Colorado Trail passes through the area on its way to Georgia Pass, and the Jefferson Lake and Jefferson Loop trails also offer day hikers options for long or short walks.

This recreation area is open mid-May to mid-October, weather dependent.

General Information

Mid May to Mid October

The Interagency Senior Pass and the Interagency Access Pass qualify for a 50% discount at concessionaire run campsites. The discount only applies to the fee for the campsite physically occupied by the pass owner, not to any additional campsite(s) occupied by members of the pass owner's party.

$11 per vehicle for day use. $25 for bus/van (10 passengers and over). $100.00 for an annual pass.

 

Dogs must be on a leash at all times.

Directions

From Jefferson, CO take County Road 54 north until the road forks, then turn right onto County Road 37 and follow the road until you reach the fee booth.
