Kenosha Pass Campground

This campground has 25 campsites at an elevation of 10,000 feet with parking spurs 16-30 feet long. Camping season begins in May and continues to early September. Facilities include water, tables, vault toilets and fire rings.

All dates are weather dependent. Visitors may expect full service from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. The area also has an extended season when services such as water, trash or a host may not be available through in the fall.

General Information

The Colorado Trail, which starts outside of Denver and ends in Durango, runs through Kenosha Pass Campground.

The Interagency Senior Pass and the Interagency Access Pass qualifies for a 50% discount at concessionaire run campsites. The discount only applies to the fee for the campsite physically occupied by the pass owner, not to any additional campsite(s) occupied by members of the pass owner's party.

The following restrictions apply to this campground:

  • A maximum eight people, two tents and two vehicles or one recreation vehicle per site.
  • A maximum RV length of 24' is allowed.
  • Dogs must be leashed at all times.
  • No discharge of firearms or fireworks.
  • Only licensed vehicles can operate inside campground.
  • Camping is not allowed behind a locked gate.

$28 fee per site for overnight. Two vehicles or one recreation vehicle per site is included in the camping fee. $11 fee for a third vehicle.

$11 fee for day use if not camping overnight.

Fees are payable by cash, check or money order.

Dogs must be on a leash at all times.

Directions

From Denver, travel southwest on U.S. Highway 285 approximately 50 miles. Kenosha Campground is located off of Highway 285, at the top of Kenosha Pass.

Parking for two vehicles or one recreational vehicle (RV) are allowed at each site.
