Brown/Hermit Lakes Interpretive Site

An Interpretive Site and Scenic Overlook along the Silverthread Scenic Byway (State Hwy 149) between Creede and Lake City. The site offers a safe place to pull off the highway, park, learn about the scenery, take photographs. 

This site facility consists of a large paved parking lot along the side of State Highway 149, a sidewalk, and some interpretive sign panels explaining what to see as you look to the west.

Directions

From the town of Creede travel west on State Highway 149 for approximately 22 miles. The overlook is on the left or west side of the highway at that point.
