Lake Fork Campground

Located along the beautiful Conejos River, the campground has 18 sites among Aspen and mixed conifers, with some sites overlooking the river. There are picnic tables and fire rings at most of the sites.

Reservations can be made through www.recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777.

General Information

Fires must remain in the metal fire rings.  Make sure your fires are "Dead Out" and cold to the touch before leaving the site.  Pack In/Pack Out all trash. This can be bear country. Remain "Bear Aware" and store food properly while camping.

Memorial Day to Labor Day weekends.

Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am.

Visit the USGS store for passes.

Day Use:
$12 per day
$10 per day (during shoulder season)
Overnight Use:
Single Site: $29 per night
Double Site: $58 per night
Single Site: $10 per night (during shoulder season)

Interagency Senior/Access Recreation Passes provide a 50% discount to single campsites ONLY.

*The discount applies only to the fee for the campsite physically occupied by the pass holder, not to any additional fee or campsite(s) occupied by members of the pass holder's party.

Interagency Recreation Passes are Honored for Day Use.

Dogs must be on leash not longer than six feet in length. 

There are outfitter-guides, cabins and a store in the nearby town of Platoro.

Directions

From Antonito, CO, take US 285 south 0.3 miles to Hwy 17. Continue straight on Hwy17 and go 21.9 miles to Platoro sign (Forest Rd. 250). Turn right at sign onto Rd. 250 (dirt) and go 17.5 miles to campground sign. Turn left into campground.

Travel Considerations

Motorized travel may be restricted due to snow and annual seasonal road closures from March 15th to May 15th.

Restrooms are available at this site.

Water

Potable water is available at this site.

One centrally located water spigot is in the campground. Water from streams and lakes should be purified before consumption.

Picnic Tables

Picnic tables are available at this site.

Most sites have picnic tables and fire rings.

Horse/Pack Animal Information

Horse/Pack animals are not allowed at this site.

Other Amenities

 Activities near the campground are Gold Medal trout fishing,  hiking on numerous area trails, and is nearby the resort community of Platoro and Platoro Reservoir.
