Trujillo Meadows Campground

This campground is adjacent to a meadow and above Trujillo Meadows Reservoir. It is composed of two sections - Upper and Lower. Sites 34 through 39 are in an inner loop which are not RV friendly. 

The facilities are large, with 50 campsites, one has parking for a two-car group. All sites have picnic tables, and fireplaces (limited firewood) and ample parking. Refuse receptacles and pickups are provided. Barrier-free facilities are offered here. 

There is an observation platform across from camping sites 40 and 41 with a view of a waterfall. Boating and fishing are available on the reservoir - small motorized and non-motorized watercraft only.

General Information

Hiking is available on nearby trails. Los Pinos Trail #736 can be accessed via the improved dirt Forest Road 1C and 4WD Forest Road #118.

The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad, a historic narrow-gauge railroad, runs nearby.

Maximum site length - 40 feet.

There is a 14-day camping limit.

$12 per day
Overnight Use:
Single Site: $29 per night

Single Site - $29 to $33.
$12 for day-use (picnicking).
Fee envelopes and a collection box are provided near the entrance.

Dogs must be on leash not longer than six feet in length.

Directions

From Antonito, CO, take US 285 south 0.3 miles to Hwy 17. Continue straight onto Hwy 17 and go 35.2 miles to the Trujillo Meadows Reservoir sign. Turn right at sign onto the dirt and go 0.1 miles to a "T" intersection and campground sign (Forest Rd. 118). Turn right onto Rd 118 and go 2.1 miles to campground on right.

Directions from Chama, New Mexico: Travel northeast 21.1 miles on Colorado Highway 17. Then go 2.5 miles north on Forest Road 118 to Forest Road 118.1B. Campground entrance is 0.3 miles north on Forest Road 118.1B.
