Fisherman Canyon Trail #48

The 1-mile Fisherman Canyon Trail #48 connects Diamond Creek Trail with the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail #74 and North Fork Palomas Trail #105. The steep trail gains 800 feet in elevation from Diamond Creek to the Continental Divide following Fisherman Canyon. The trail is located entirely within the Aldo Leopold Wilderness.

Directions

From Winston, go north on New Mexico Highway 52 for 9 miles to New Mexico Highway 59. Turn left (west) on Highway 59 and proceed approximately 14.5 miles to Forest Road 226 and turn left (south). Follow Forest Road 226 for approximately 8.5 miles to Forest Road 500 (Turkey Run Road). Proceed straight ahead on Forest Road 500 and follow it to its end.
