Big Eddy Boat Take-out

Recommended minimum flows for small craft (kayaks, canoes) is 300 cubic feet per second.
Recommended minimum flows for larger craft (rafts) is 500 cubic feet per second.
High flows (above 2,000 cubic feet per second) can bring hazardous and swift conditions.
Open year round, Big Eddy is located off of FR 151 along the Rio Chama and north of Abiquiu Lake. This site is often used as the take-out for those floating the Rio Chama Wild and Scenic River. It is also a popular access point for those looking to fish along the Rio Chama.
