Stock tank installation for 13 Ranch Allotment

Trick Tank in Cross Y II Pasture on the Bar X Allotment

Landscape-scale restoration on the Coconino, Apache-Sitgreaves, and Tonto National Forests of ponderosa pine ecosystems, designed to maintain, improve, and restore ecosystem structure, pattern, function, and resiliency.

Exclude cattle from green waste site with fencing and cattle guard

Arizona Department of Water Resources to construct a Continuously Operating Reference Station (CORS) providing real-time and post-processed GNSS data coverage for that part of Maricopa County where there are no existing CORS sites.

Issue a new permit to APS authorizing the construction and operation of a 21-acre substation near Rye, AZ

Placement of approximately 2200 feet of existing overhead power line underground. The existing overhead powerline has had continuous failures due to extreme ice and winds. This powerline serves numerous communication sites and Forest Service lookout.

Replace approximately 2.2 miles of forty year old existing underground 21kV power line serving Mt. Ord communications & lookout sites with new above ground line on poles within existing corridor. Equipment and material delivered and set by helicopter

Replace the underground 12 kV line that spurs off of FR 524 near Reno Pass to the top of Mt. Ord.

AT&T FirstNet proposal to add 20 ft to the height of the tower, new ice bridge from tower to cabinet, new equipment cabinet on concrete slab, new propane generator on concrete slab, new buried electrical service and pedestal

Issue a new 10 year authorization to New Cingular Wireless PCS, LLC a subsidary of AT&T Mobility LLC to operate and maintaint the existing Roosevelt Dam Cellular Communications Tower on the Tonto Basin Ranger District.

FS must decide whether to allow APS to include using herbicides as a method to manage vegetation on existing APS transmission ROW within five National Forests in Arizona.

To relocate the trail to a more sustainable location.

a new prefab building replacing the existing, a new ice bridge with supports, a new generator and fuel tank on new slabs, trenching between the tank, generator, and building, and a new electrical trench from the building to APS transformer.

The Tonto National Forest is preparing an environmental assessment(EA) to determine whether the implementation of the management plan would result in significant impacts to the human environment.

Installation of floating boat houses at Saguaro, Canyon & Apache Lakes for the purpose of housing AZG&F law enforcement water craft. Each boat house will be near the existing County Sheriff facilities. Six piles will be installed per boat house.

Maintenance of 13 AGFD wildlife water developments on the Cave Creek Ranger District. NEPA compliance and special use permit needed for continued use / maintenance of water catchments that were built during the 1970’s by AFGD.

The AGFD is proposing to install 9 new wildlife water catchments, and redevelop 7 existing catchments on the Cave Creek, Globe, and Mesa RDs. The project will provide reliable waters to wildlife. The 3 District Rangers will sign separate decisions.

Reissue Special Use Permit for maintaining and using an existing water well registered to Arizona Water Company and associated water transmission line.

This project is a riparian habitat improvement partnership project to protect habitat for native and protected fish and wildlife in the Arnett Creek watershed and would improve user created trails that currently encroach onto riparian areas.

Short term use exploratory drilling.

Construction of new 4 strand wire pasture division fence to divide one large pasture into a North and a South Pasture. Fenceline would roughly follow Naegelin Canyhon from east to west, tieing into existing Allotment Boundary fences on either end.

Extensions of three existing pipelines to storage tanks and livestock/wildlife drinkers. Pipelines would primarily follow existing FS roads; storage units and drinkers would be located on large, flat, rocky sites minimizing ground disturbance.

Construction of 4 trick tanks on the Bar X Allotment

It is proposed by the permittee to construct seven new tanks on the Bar X allotment. All the tanks will be adjacent to existing system roads and will collect run-off from the roadways. All tanks will be approximately 50 ft X 100ft and will be appro

To authorize grazing on the four grazing allotments known as the Bar X consistent with the goals, objectives, standards and guidelines in the Forest Plan.

It is proposed by the Forest Service and the permittee to install a new 2,500 gallon storage tank and two new troughs along the route of an existing surface polypipe.

A CXT toilet will be replaced at Bartlett Flats 100ft from the existing dirt ramp to replace an aging toilet.

The proposed action is to amend the existing term Special Use Permit issued to Jack D. Church, Inc. to authorize the construction and maintenance of a Cable Park System within the existing Bartlett Lake Marina permit boundary.

The purpose of this project is to reissue the Special Use Term Permit for Bartlett Lake Marina.

The purpose of this project is to add a small corral with a trigger gate that allows livestock to use the water trough at this location while in the pasture but then can be trapped in the corral and hauled out of the pasture when required.

Authorize request to land helicopters in five wilderness areas on the forest to survey and monitor bighorn sheep populations and respond promptly to indications that a disease event is threatening bighorn sheep herd viability.

The Tonto National Forest proposes to authorize the permittee to construct three new tanks on the Bar X allotment. All the tanks will be adjacent to existing system roads and will collect run-off from the roadways

The Arizona Department of Transportation has proposed to expand the existing 2.3 acre pit to a depth of 30 feet. Material excavated would be used for maintenance of a portion of State Route 288.

Update management plan for an active grazing allotment

Conduct exploratory drilling to assess the potential presence and depth of uranium ore deposits on both the Bull and Jim Claims. Bull: Drill one to five holes at one pad/site. Jim: Drill five holes at three different pads/sites.

The proposal is to obliterate apx 75 miles of unauthorized, uninventoried motorized routes in the Bulldog Canyon Permit Area.

Investigate active and potentially active faults in central Arizona for dams along the Salt River including Horse Mesa and Mormon Flat dams by trenching in 6 locations near Hwy 87 in the sugarloaf area. This project is related to Dam safety.

Investigating active and potentially active faults in central Arizona for dams along the Salt and Verde rivers. The investigation involves digging soil pits by hand at 20 locations within the Tonto National Forest.

Update and authorize grazing on Buzzard Roost Allotment

Proposal to install fiber optic line from Payson to Show Low.

Cable One d/b/a Sparklight proposes vegetation clearing, construction, and on-going maintenance of a proposed Gila County E-rate Fiber Optic Line Installation Project (Proposed Action) on Tonto National Forest land.

Recreational residences whose permits have been revoked or terminated will be removed from the land, returning the lot to a natural state. Historic structures located on these lots will remain.

Complete an analysis to to determine whether the Camp Creek Recreation Residence Tract will continue.

To obliterate uninventoried, unauthorized, motorized routes in the Camp Creek Watershed using handtools, vegetation planting, and a trail maintenance dozer.

Update grazing allotment management plan for two allotments combined

Special use permit renewal for existing Canyon Creek Hatchery issued to Arizona Game and Fish Department . Permit is for 16 acres for developments/facilities of hatchery operations.

Replace low-water crossing with culvert for fish passage.

Project would authorize the improvements to existing facilities so that Canyon Lake Marina including a replacement fuel tank and corresponding fuel line as well as additional covered storage for watercraft.

The purpose of this project is to issue a new special use authorization to replace an existing special use authorization to reflect the change of ownership of the Canyon Lake Marina.

Replace existing towers and equipment at each site to enable use of modern technologies and colocation of additional providers greatly improving cellular coverage in the area.

Enhance aquatic habitat in approximately 5 miles of Canyon Creek, two segments of Haigler Creek totaling 3.5 miles, and two segments of Christopher Creek totally approximately 1.5 miles all of which occur on the USFS Tonto National Forest (TNF).

Update management direction for the three grazing allotments

Carlotta Copper Company is seeking a 20 year special use permit to repurpose the main waste rock pile into utility-scale solar photo voltaic array. Energy would be used to power onsite operations with excess energy returned to the grid.

Treat approximately 8000 acres on Carol Spring Mountain.

The proposed action was developed to increase the number of dependable water sources on the Cartwright Allotment. The proposal consists of the authorization of structural improvements on the allotment including water lines, troughs and storage tanks.

A new cattle guard is proposed to be installed on Forest Road 208.

The Cave Creek Ranger District is proposing to remediate negative impacts to wildlife and habitat from OHV route proliferation by revegetating over 200 acres and providing OHV staging areas to prevent further damage.

Implement timber harvest and related activities within the analysis area

The Chamberlain Pit will be used to supply approximately 2,000 cubic yards of DG material for the Haigler Canyon Recreation Site CIP project. This will involve moving one power pole and terracing the pit for disperse camping use in the future.

Update and re-authorize grazing permits on two allotments

Reduce hazardous forest fuels, both dead and live fuels, and to reduce the potential for stand-replacing, catastrophic wildfires.The Need is to address the present fuels threat posed to human life, property, and natural resources.

Enhance stream and riparian habitat with placement of natural materials and vegetation

Pipeline project on the Greenback Allotment

Update and re-authorize target range

The project is to add water sources to better distribute livestock and provide additional reliable water sources.

Two storage tanks with mounted solar panels and pumps are proposed to be constructed next to an existing pipeline on the Dutchwoman Allotment. This will convert the existing water system into a solar operated system.

Road easement to private land HES 467

Provide wireless cell phone service to the Canyon Lake and Tortilla Flats area which will enable communications for Forest Service employees, emergency services, and the commercial business. A 60' monopole will be constructed to accomodate this.

The Arizona Department of Transportation has proposed to resume use of the existing 4.5 acre mineral material pit, of which 2.5 acres has previously been excavated. Material would be used for maintenance of SR 288 between Reynolds Creek and Young.

The Globe District Ranger will decide what AUMs to authorize for the Coolidge Parker grazing allotment.

The Cave Creek District Ranger will decide whether livestock grazing will continue to be authorized on the Copper Creek Allotment.

Bronco Creek Exploration proposed to drill from four of six possible sites.

Bronco Creek Exploration proposes to drill a maximum of 18 drill sites from 27 possible drill site locations over a period of ten years.

Minerals exploration proposal which includes the use of existing roads for drill site access and some sites accessed by helicopter.

This project combines the environmental review of two mineral exploration projects, Copper King and Superior West. The combined projects result in a total of 106 unique drill site locations of which up to 43 would be selected for drilling, over 10 yr

Copper Springs exploration drilling project near Globe, AZ. Proposes four drill holes from six sites accessed from existing roads

Installation of pipe rail fencing at the terminus of MT-3512 to stop motorized access to the Cottonwood Spring and adjacent creek bed.

Authorization of range improvements on the Armer Mountain Allotment.

Renewal of permits authorizing five existing recreation residences collectively known as the Crabtree Wash Recreation Residence Tract located on the Tonto Basin Ranger District.

Alternate route for the Cragin Water Pipeline. Alternate route would follow already existing utility corridor for approximately 1/10th of a mile and less than 40 feet wide.

Replacement of communication towers to meet EIA Standard RS-222-C.

Two new communication sites along HWY 87 will be built.

Reissuance of a training area special use permit for the Air Force to carry out search and rescue training.

Closure of Davis Wash Recreation Area

Development of trail management objectives for National Forest System trails on the Tonto National Forest

An extension to an existing water line to provide water to cattle in a new area.

Extending an existing pipeline and adding storage and drinking troughs in Winter Camp, Holding, Pole Corral, Marsh Creek, and Home Pastures on the Diamond Butte Allotment. The projects will help in permitted livestock distribution.

Create water developments on the Diamond Butte Allotment to improve livestock distribution and provide water to wildlife.

To develop and implement a single grazing strategy on the Little Green Valley Grazing Complex which is consistent with the Tonto National Forest Land Management Plan, as amended.

Project would authorize the proposed exploration drilling in the project area, within the project proponent's mineral rights, in a manner that complies with law, regulation, and policy.

The project is to install a water pipeline between East Spring Fork and the Bladder well which is being depleted of water.

Restructuring stream bank and stream channel for habitat improvement and sediment reduction

The purpose of this project is to issue the annual Recreation Event El Tour de Mesa a three-year special use permit. This will reduce the workload of Special Use Administrators.

Forest Service in partnership with the Yavapai-Apache Nation, Tonto Apache, San Carlos Apache, and White Mountain Apache tribes are developing proposals to manage and restore culturally important Emory oak groves.

The Arizona Department of Transportation has proposed to reopen and expand the existing Fish Creek Mineral Material borrow pit to obtain mineral materials necessary for the maintenance of State Route 88.

To facilitate the natural recovery of the Flowing Springs Recreation Site

Controlled burn at Flying V & H

The purpose of this project is to use prescribed fire to improve timber stand conditions and wildlife habitat by reducing catastrophic fire hazard and natural fuel build-up.

This project would realign a portion of FSR 287 from the private mine property to National Forest System land west of Pinto Valley Mine to provide a safer route for Forest users visiting the area away from mining vehicles, equipment, and activities.

Reroute of existing motorized trail (formerly Road 4) away from private property crossing.

The purpose of this project is to re-issue Forest-wide filming and photography permits to Alan Benoit, East-West Productions, and Denton Hanna for up to 5 years each.

Tonto National Forest will issue 63 special use authorizations for new terms. All of the authorizations are existing, the holder is in full compliance with the authorization's terms and conditions, no changes have occurred in either the use or scope.

Add vault toilets in the Fossil Creek Wild and Scenic River Corridor in order to provide adequate sanitation for existing visitation and to protect river values, including water quality and natural and cultural resources

Provide water in important white tail habitat, improve livestock water availibility, and improve riparian vegetation.

Conduct geo-tech drilling at each of the seven bridge locations, on the Control Road, prior to replacement of these old bridges.

The Forest Service was a cooperating agency, assisting the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in that Agency's geothermal leasing analysis and decision. The BLM issued a record of decision on 12/17/2008.

This is an existing mineral pit the will be enlarged and will supply material for the maintenance of Gila County and US Forest Service roads in and around the town of Young, AZ and within the Pleasant Valley Ranger District.

The purpose of this project is to grant the Gila County Public Works department an easement that would allow them maintain Roosevelt Estates Rd. as an easement in place of the current cooperative agreement.

Globe Ranger District proposes to develop structural range improvements at various locations across six range allotments to better distribute livestock and maintain forage utilization at levels appropriate with management intensity and objectives.

Consistency Review to determine if Globe recreation residence tract is consistent with the 1985 Tonto Forest Plan as amendended.

There are numerous mines and associated features on the district that have been abandoned without safe closure and/or remediation. The purpose is to remediate features that may pose physical hazards.

The Forest Service proposes the placement of a plastic or galvanized catchment apron either on the ground or on a low, above-ground metal frame. Water will be stored in two 5000 gallon polyethylene tanks placed adjacent to the catchment.

Construction of Cellular facility adjacent to the Goldfield administrative site on the Lower Salt River. A relay facility will be constructed on Stewart Mountain and equipment added to existing facility at Saguaro Lake Marina.

The Globe Ranger District seeks to provide for the OHV use that is occurring in the project area in a more sustainable manner, minimize future resource damage, and control proliferation of unmanaged OHV use into adjacent areas.

Install pipelines from springboxes to watering troughs

The primary purpose of this project is to reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfire to private property. This fuel break will also provide fire managers with an anchor point for future fire management or prescribed fire activities.

Analysis of use & effects of Sheep Driveway, originating on Mesa RD & terminating on Springerville RD. Driveway traverses portions of Mesa, Tonto Basin, & Pleasant Valley RDs (Tonto NF); and Black Mesa, Lakeside, and Springerville RDs (A-S NFs).

The project will enhance the aquatic and riparian habitat in selected reaches of Haigler and Canyon creeks with instream structures and plantings.

The purpose of this project is to implement a Master Development Plan for the Hawes Trail System and the adjacent area.

Mesa District Ranger is proposing to construct a parking lot (Usery Parking Lot) on the west side of Usery Pass and east of the Hawes Trail System. One non-motorized trail (Bob Gnarly Trail) would be designated and constructed to connect the system.

Update management direction for the Hicks-Pike's Peak grazing allotments

Construction, Operation, & Maintenance of 3 new Communications sites on Hwy 87 and 1 Site on Hwy 260 to improve public and first responder communication in areas of low or no coverage.

This project would focus on restoration of fire adapted ecosystems, including mechanical thinning and prescribed burning to accomplish landscape restoration objectives as proposed by the Tribe that are on the Tonto National Forest and Tribal Land.

Authorization of range improvements on the Chrysotile Grazing Allotment.

Use two existing wells to supply water to 10 storage tanks (2500-10000 gal) and 10 troughs to provide water for livestock, wildlife, fire suppression. Approx. 4 miles of poly pipe will be placed above ground to link wells to tanks and troughs.

A new well will be drilled to provide adequate water for livestock in an allotment.

Delineate Salt River Canyon Wilderness boundary on Forest Road 219 at Horseshoe Bend by replacinga gate and adding about 20 feet of pipe rail barrier near the beginning of private land at the end of Forest Road 219 and pruning/removing vegetation.

To improve the springs as a wildlife water and protect it from heavy trampling and grazing by livestock, the Cave Creek Ranger District seeks to authorize the installation of a pipe rail exclosure fence around the middle springs.

Placement of a radio repeater building on the Tonto NF to provide radio communications to field going units in the area of the Verde river canyon, Fossil creek canyon, and Ikes backbone. This project is for the Coconino NF

Eradication, containment, or control of noxious weed and invasive plant species forestwide using an integrated approach. Treatment methods may include cultural, physical, mechanical, biological, or chemical control measures.

Prescribed burning of upto 8310 acres of brush, juniper, grass, and pinyon pine. Rejuvinate decadent plants, reduce woody brush to improve forage.

Exploration drilling from seven drill sites, makes use of existing roads

To obtain diamond core drilling and other geological information in fall and winter of 2020. Proposed activities include construction of up to five drill sites out of seven possible drill site locations identified.

Installation of a new water tank and lay HDPE pipe to supply a new trough.

Reissuance of Kohl's Ranch OG permit for 1 year.

Authorization of range improvements on the A-Cross Grazing Allotment.

The purpose of this project is to reroute the Legends of Superior Trail. We need to provide connectivity between the Arizona National Scenic Trail and the Town of Superior to meet the current and future needs of recreational visitors to the area.

In partnership with Salt River Project, construct a fish barrier in Lime Creek to prevent upstream movement of non-native fishes and crayfish and provide protection to Gila topminnow and sensitive amphibians.

Update Allotment Management Plan for an active grazing allotment.

Stabilization of soil erosion that may effect the peat bog at Little Green Valley. This erosion may be occuring due to overgrazing by elk and livestock on private land and/or recent highway construction on SR260.

Approximately two miles of fence is proposed to be constructed on the Hardt Creek Allotment south of Forest Service Road 417.

Update and reauthorize an existing special use permit for 1.1 mile of road 24F (lower Camp Creek Road). Special use permit authorizes road and gate maintenance. This road provides access to 18 recreation residences.

Provide livestock with reliable water sources

Resolution Copper Mining, LLC proposes to conduct a magnetotelluric geophysical investigation east of Superior, AZ. Sites along survey grid would be accessed from existing roads and by foot travel.

Construction and reconstruction of trail 260 on about .3 miles of trail

The improvement of existing sites to provide more efficient and modern public safety communication system.

Trail Construction by Maricopa County

The Tonto National Forest proposes to authorize Maricopa Parks to construct a non-motorized trail, less than one mile in length, across Forest land in the area of the existing Granite Reef Recreation Area.

Approximately 300 acres of alligator juniper seedlings would be mechanically removed by "pushing" with a small dozer. Project area is on gentle slope in semi-desert grasslands and treatment specifications would result in minimal soil disturbance

Reauthorization of Special Use Permit (updated to Mineral Contract For Sale) for Squaw Peak Borrow Source (road materials) used by Arizona Dept. of Transportation on Pleasant Valley RD of Tonto NF, R-3.

Reissuance of Special Use Permit (and modified to a Mineral Sale Permit) to allow Ariz. Dept. of Transportation continued use of the roadway materials pit for road maintenance on Tonto NF.

Reissuance of Special Use Permit to allow Ariz. Dept. of Transportation continued use of roadway maintenance material stockpile site. An expansion of the site requested but request was denied.

Reissuance of Special Use Permit (updated to Mineral Contract for Sale), to ADOT for use of roadway maintenance material source and stockpile site.

Conduct a prescribed burn in chaparral vegetation type

Authorize following range improvements on the Cross F Allotment.

Reconstruction of trail system inside Willow Fire burn area/Mazatzal Wilderness

Close two abandoned mine lands sites recently observed on Mesa Ranger District.

Approximately 30 acres of land that has been highly impacted by OHV use will be regenerated by planting cactus and other native plants to restore these areas to a natural state. Approximately 10 miles of pipe rail fencing or boulders will be used.

This reissuance of the special use permit to Midvale Telephone will replace their 20 year SUP issued in 1994. The SUP will incorporate: ammendments, added drop lines, optic fiber to the Pleasant valley Ranger District Compound and the Old Homestead.

The Mesa Ranger District is proposing to add three new 10,000 gallon storage tanks and two 600 gallon toughs to improve range condition through better livestock distribution and provide additional wildlife waters in three pastures on the allotment.

The Mesa Ranger District proposes continued authorization of livestock grazing on the Millsite Allotment. The PA consists of five components: authorization, improvements, monitoring, adaptive management, and resource protection measure

Drilling program for mineral exploration. Includes the use of existing roads for access and drill sites.

Construct a new ice bridge/cable route from site 6 to site 11 tower to enable AT&T FirstNet first responder network communication. Will be anchored by on-ground blocks rather than underground footings. There will be no ground disturbance

Facility improvements on multiple existing communication sites. Improvements may include tower and/or structure construction, demolition, back up power replacement, photovoltaic systems, grading, surfacing, and fencing.

Purpose is to manage hazardous fuels, both live and dead fuels, in order to reduce the potential of catastrophic wildfire. Need is to address the present fuels threat posed to human life, property and natural resources.

To authorize a research permit for the establishment of a pollinator garden.

Monitor outcomes of past hazardous fuels reduction

This project would authorize long term stream monitoring opportunities in Sycamore Creek by permitting NEON to collect data at the proposed Sycamore Creek site.

The project involves various improvements to the Needle Rock Recreation Area. Improvments will include road construction and widening, vehicle barriers, gates, vault toilet buildings, dumpster pads, parking areas, interpretive signs, picnic sites.

Ground disturbance would include use of a truck-mounted drill rig to drill the well, pipeline, and/or armature to link the new well with an existing windmill and water storage tanks.

The Cave Creek Ranger District proposes to install a permanent repeater site on the summit of New River Mountain to support reliable radio communications between area field personnel and the dispatch center.

It is proposed by the Forest Service and the permittee to construct four new roadside tanks. Tanks will be 50ft. X 100 ft. X 8-10 ft. deep. This project has been funded by the AZG&F Department as a habitat improvement for elk ,deer and small game.

Authorization of range improvements on the Hardt Creek Grazing Allotment.

The purpose of this project is to remove unauthorized user created trails in Township 2N, Range 7E, Section 15 and revegetate the area.

Authorize following range improvements on the Hicks Pikes Peak Allotment

Issue priority permits to long-term temporary permit holders that have demonstrated acceptable performance. Create a Total Service Day allocation pool and amend the Tonto Land and Resource Managment Plan.

The project is to use prescribed fire to improve timer stands and wildlife habitat by decreasing fire intensity potential.

To sell approximately 260 acres of the Payson Administrative Site that is not utilized and is hard to manage, and build new admin facilities. The forest was given authority to sell this site with PL 106-48 - Arizona National Forest Improvement Act.

This projects seek to do the following: Develop OHV staging areas across Payson, prohibit camping within 200' of streams unless designated, and designate an OHV specific campground.

Maintenance and reconstruction on existing trails within Payson Ranger District by Forest Service employees, volunteers, and contract crews. Work will include reestablishing tread, clearing of vegetation debris, & installing/maintaining structures.

Reduce fuels on approximately 35,000 acres within a 68,000 acre analysis area. Methods include mechanical treatments (dead tree removal and thinning), piling and burning slash, and broadcast burning

There are currently 27 expired Communication Site Special Use Authorizations that authorize the use of facilities on National Forest System Lands. The proposed action is to re-issue these authorizations for the existing facilities and use.

Reissue a permit to maintain & operate an existing telephone/telegraph line (Magma Signal Line). Originally authorized in 1969 (Magma Arizona Railroad). Purpose of line is to monitor & control of water pumps.

Reissue permit to maintain and operate a 12 inch diameter water transmission main from private wells to the Town of Superior within a 10 foot wide by 9.53 mile long ROW. To include 2" spur service line. This waterline has been authorized since 1969.

The cutting and gathering of fuelwood and/or forest products for personal use only. The primary objective of this program is to provide a product to the public which results in forest fuels reduction and breeding habitat reduction for bark beetles.

Personal use cutting and/or gathering of forest products.

Project activities proposed are 13 drill sites and a temporary access road.

Project would improve two existing undefined parking areas by delineating a boundary with pipe rail fence and designating them as overflow parking sites, the north lot would be for equestrian use and the south lot would be for single vehicles.

The purpose of this project is to manage illegal motorized use off designated routes and discourage the proliferation of new user created routes. Includes designated parking lot, pipe rail fence, interpretive information, and road type changes.

This project aims to remediate the post fire remains of 2 recreation residences and authorize the residence owners to rebuild these residences in compliance with their existing permit.

The Tonto National Forest is proposing to authorize the replacement of approximately 3.9 miles of 21kV power line that serves the Pinal Peak communications & fire lookout site by Arizona Public Service (APS). Public comment period ends April 15, 2013

The project goal is to meet the desired conditions for stands of ponderosa pine and mixed conifer given an overabundance of fire intolerant conifer species.

It is proposed by the Forest Service and the permittee to install a new water storage tank and associated drinkers, as well as approximately 1 mile of surface pipeline.

The purpose of this project is to utilize prescribed fire or naturally occurring wildfire to reduce hazardous fuel accumulation and mitigate effects from an unplanned wildfire that could be catastrophic to Mexican spotted owl habitat.

construct approximately 8 miles of trail on the North side of Pine Creek Drainage and 1.5 miles of reroute on the Pine Trail.

The Pine and Hog Canyon allotments are managed together as one unit. The current Allotment Management Plan was approved in 1985 and is in need of update and revision. New plan may adjust cattle numbers, and include new range improvement practices.

Fuels management project around and south of the communities of Pine and Strawberry, AZ. Total project area being analyzed is 68,000+ acres.

Provide adequate handling facilities to manage livestock that are grazing allotment.

Stabilization of Creek Bank for Erosion Control and Safety

BHP Copper USA, Inc. proposes to conduct explroation drilling at three sites in areas adjacent to Pinto Valley Mine on National Forest System land.

The purpose of this Plan is to administratively consolidate all authorizations required to continue ongoing and future operations, as well as authorize new disturbance on National Forest System lands.

Project will repair existing facilities and add new constructed features to the existing Pipeline Staging Area including new restroom facilities and pipe rail fencing delineating parking area to improve public health and safety and protect resources.

Consolidates previous Plan of Operation and Special Use Permit authorizations, including continued operation of existing sedimentation basin; Use of segments of Forest Roads 229, 989, and 2403 for hauling; and mining at two unpatented claims.

This action is an issuance of a Convenience Enclosure Special Use Permit (SUP) to the Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department (PVVFD) for a community burn pit to service the residents of the Pleasant Valley area (Young, AZ).

Burn slash piles located on Pleasant Valley R.D. that are not located on an administrative site and are not covered by any other NEPA.

Structural measures are proposed to facilitate the management of livestock by evenly distributing cattle on the allotment, restricting access to sensitive areas and provide livestock with additional reliable water sources.

Approximately 900 acres of alligator juniper encroachment would be mechanically removed with a skid-steer mounted agri-axe. Project area is on gentle slopes in semi-desert grasslands & project specifications would result in minimal soil disturbance.

Authorization of range improvements on the Roosevelt Grazing Allotment.

The Prescott National Forest is proposing to re-issue a 50-year permit for Arizona Public Service to continue operation and maintenance of their 69kV sub-transmission line that runs between Prescott, Poland Junction, and Childs, Arizona.

Using the Categorical Exclusion (CE) process, we propose to remove existing language on page 38-1 of the 1985 Tonto National Forest Land and Resource Management Plan (Forest Plan).

Payson Ranger District received a Plan proposing a project to collect soil samples on National Forest System lands to explore for locatable minerals

Cut juniper trees to improve habitiat for elk, deer, and turkey by creating a mosaic and improving herbacous component.

Reroute roughly 1 mile of standard four strand wire fence to a better location.

Minerals exploration proposal including use of existing roads to provide access for drilling.

Per existing permittee Alltel's request. Revoke existing authorization & reissue communication site authorization to new equipment owner AT&T (New Cingular Wireless).

The reissuance of an expired permit to maintain and operate an existing 8” ductile iron water transmission line within a 20 foot by 10 foot corridor (.005 acres). This waterline serves the Superior Public School site.

The re-issuance of permit for existing Arizona Public Service 345KV - Cholla to Pinnacle Peak Powerline. To maintain and operate 345kv power transmission line and steel lattice towers within a 315' wide Right-of Way.

Resolution Copper Mining, LLC proposes to collect hydrologic, geochemical and geotechnical data in order to provide baseline information on these aspects of the environment over an area being considered for a potential tailings storage site.

Project is designed to reduce forest fuels and associated ladder fuels, reduce risk of intense fire adjacent to private property, reduce the risk to life, property, natural resources along road and boundary.

Roosevelt Lake Boat Storage and Ma's Kitchen has had a special use permit for a sign adjacent to Arizona State Highway 188 since 2004. The permit needs to be renewed under a five year special use permit.

Construct a channel to intercept storm runoff and prevent damage to private property and enhance public safety.

Authorization of range improvements on the Hardt Creek Grazing Allotment.

Replace existing vacant and outdated facilities with a single 12 ft x 20 ft ADA compliant precast concrete equipment structure, 70 ft tall lattice tower, 1000 gal. propane tank, concrete pad, generator, concrete pad, 8 ft high chain link fence

The Arizona Game and Fish Department and its partners propose to place fish habitat structures in Saguaro Lake over the next 10 years. The plan includes the use reef ball structures to attract and assist in creating a better fishery.

The Mesa District Ranger proposes to amend the existing special use permit to the Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch to authorize the drilling of a replacement water well and to authorize the existing parking area to be paved.

The proposed action is to issue an amendment to Saguaro Lake Marina's existing term Special Use Permit to authorize an additional 150 paved parking spaces and an extension of the existing permit boundary by 2.5 acres to the west.

This project would authorize the expansion of the existing upper parking lot at Saguaro Lake Marina to meet the needs of the growing population of recreators at Saguaro Lake, access to Saguaro Lake, and Forest Service expectations for operating.

The purpose of this project is to reissue the Special Use Term Permit for Saguaro Lake Marina.

Add water sources to two pastures to improve livestock distribution

The Tonto National Forest will prepare and Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) on a proposal to improve ecological conditions within the project area usig tools such as fire and grazing management and to authorize continued livestock grazing.

To authorize the use of USFS and EPA approved Herbicides within existing power line corridors to remove non-compatible vegetation to ensure reliable and safe power supply.

Authorization of range improvements on the Ranger Station Grazing Allotment.

This project proposes to authorize additional range improvements to supply additional water for livestock. This is necessary to allow the existing grazing authorization to achieve conservative utilization of forage and increase livestock distribution

New water storage tank and troughs

Former permit holder (Living Proof, Inc.) sold improvements on Feburary 28, 2012 to GovNET, Inc. and applied for permit revocation and transfer of permit with a new ten year term.

Operations will include exploratory trenching at three separate sites and milling and gravity concentration at the existing tailings pile where bulk samples would be collected.

Water source development on grazing allotment

The Tonto National Forest proposes to obliterate unauthorized and uninventoried user created motorized routes in the six areas on the Cave Creek and Mesa Ranger Districts to benefit vegetation and watershed conditions.

20 Abandoned mine lands features proposed for closure using methods recommended by Bat Conservation International, (e.g., warning signs, bat gates, expanding foam, or backfill.)

Construct approximately 500 acres of fuel breaks around private land contained within the Tonto National Forest.

Reissue the special use permits for the use of the organization camps and outdoor chapel/amphitheater facilities for Grand Canyon Council, inc., AZ Cactus-Pine Girl Scout Council, Inc. and Payson Christian Ministerial Fellowship.

It is proposed by the Forest Service and the permittee to construct a new dirt tank.

Prescribed burning is proposed on 211,218 acres within the Spring Fuel analysis area to manage timber and other woody vegetation. The proposed action would help maintain the health of the forest and woodland vegetation.

The purpose of this project is to authorize ADOT to repair and mitigate damage to approximately one and a half miles of SR 88 to allow the roadway to be reopened by ADOT to four-wheel drive, high-clearance vehicles, and UTVs.

Fenceline will divide Storm Canyon Pasture and be constructed of all metal materials. WIndmill, 3 troughs, and a storage tank will be placed along 1 mile of pipeline to increase livestock distribution and provide water for livestock and wildlife.

The Mesa Ranger District is preparing an environmental assessment to develop an adaptive management strategy to reauthorize livestock grazing in a manner which maintains or improves resource conditions on the allotment.

Environmental Assessment to analyze effects of continued livestock grazing on Sunflower Allotment

This project will entail the conveyance of water from an existing private well to a new 10,000 underground storage tank. HDPE pipe will carry water from the tank to two new 500 gallon troughs. Project will improve livestock distribution.

Remediation of physical safety hazards associated with abandoned mine features.

The purpose of this project is to cooperate with the Town of Superior to create a defensive fire line to the southwest of the community (approximately 2.2 miles long & 100 feet wide). It would follow existing roads from Highway 60 to State Route 177.

Project would authorize placing boulders to block certain unauthorized, user-created routes within the project area which are causing resource damage.

Use of existing roads and helicopter to access up to 25 drill sites out of 79 possible drill site locations.

Exploration drilling adjacent to existing road

Freeport McMoRan proposes to conduct a magnetotelluric geophysical investigation west of Superior, AZ. Sites along the survey grid would be accessed from existing roads and by foot travel.

Reconstruct two wildlife water catchments in Sonoran Desert to increase water availability for local wildlife during dry periods. Updated materials and design will increase water storage and wildlife access, and decrease maintenance costs.

Rebuilding and replacement of wildlife waterers and providing exclusion fencing to provide more reliable water sources and increase water volumes available.

The Pleasant Valley Ranger District is proposing to provide a commercial salvage sale within the boundary of the Tanner Wildfire (Sept. 2011) and remove 235 acres of dead or dying trees within 250 feet of State Highway 288.

Vortex Technology LLC has submitted a Plan of Operations for a trenching exploration project. Up to 9 trenches, 3 short(30'X2'X6') and 6 long (6'X4'X4').

Project to realign the current braided, user created trails to provide a quality designated non-motorized trail that reduces recreational impact to riparian habitat and can be maintained to Forest Service standards

BHP proposes exploration drilling at two sites located on National Forest System lands in the vicinity of Globe, Arizona.

Redevelopment of three wildlife water catchments constructed in the 1940s and 50s by removing existing systems and replacing them with larger and more reliable systems.

Development of a Green Waste Disposal Site for the Community of Tonto Basin, AZ. The one acre site will be cleared of vegetation, fenced and a cattle guard installed. The vegetation will be burned at regular intervals.

Update managment plans for three active grazing allotments

to allow the Arizona Game and Fish Department, to excavate accumulated sediments in four (4) constructed wetlands immdiately downstream of Tonto Creek Hatchery as part of required routine maintenance

Tonto National Forest Lakes Fish Habitat Improvement Project

The Forest Service plans to grant a special use permit to the Town of Payson to locate, construct, operate, and maintain a 15 mile by 100 foot wide water transmission pipeline right-of-way and a 5 or 10 acre water treatment plant.

Rerouting of deteriorated and damaged portions of trails and trail maintenance activities

Utilize mechanical and prescribed fire treatments to reduce fire risk in a wildland urban interface area of approximately 28,438 acres

The purpose of this project is to remove encroaching junipers on 870 acres of grassland with a bulldozer to reduce canopy cover and increase herbaceous cover to improve watershed conditions and improve forage production for livestock and wildlife.

The purpose of the project is to increase water availability for wildlife and livestock, protect riparian resources, and conserve native fish species by maintaining and repairing spring development, which enabling water to be moved to other places.

This project will add more reliable water sources to improve livestock distribution.

Install new fence in White Rock, Picnic, Dog, and LX springs to allow adequate wildlife access and improvement of soils and riparian habitat. Where necessary, remove existing fencing and clear brush and/or juniper trees to build fences.

The Arizona Game and Fish Department is proposing to install seven wildlife water catchments on Cave Creek Ranger District. These catchments will provide water for mule deer and other wildlife species.
