Occupancy and Use

PROHIBITIONS:

Pursuant to Title 36 CFR 261.50 (a) and (b) the following act is prohibited on the area, roads, and trails described in this Order, all within the Grey's River Ranger District, Bridger-Teton National Forest. This closure area consists of 2 Areas with 2 different dates. Area 1 is closed from December 1 through April 30th• Area 2 is closed from November 16 through April 30th.

  1. Going into or being upon the area closed for the protection of property for wintering wildlife habitat as described below and depicted on the Map attached hereto as Exhibit A. 36 CFR 261.53(f).

EXEMPTIONS:

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (e) the following persons are exempt from this order:

  1. Persons with a permit specifically exempting them from the effect of this Order.

     

  2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.

AREA DESCRIBED:

The closure consists of 2 Areas:

Area 1- National Forest System land within an area located 34 miles south of the town of Alpine. Including all of sections 16, 21, and 289, T33N, R116W, 6th Principal Meridian located west of the Grey's River Road #10138, near Forest Park. See attached map.

Area 2 - National Forest System land immediately south of the town of Alpine, Wyoming, including the East ½ of Section 32, T37N, R118W; 6th Principal Meridian. See Attached Map.

The above described areas are within the proclaimed and administrative boundaries of the Greys River Ranger District, Bridger-Teton National Forest, Lincoln County Wyoming.

PURPOSE:

These restrictions are necessary to protect wintering wildlife habitat from the disturbance caused by human entry, to protect natural resources (physical and biological), on an area identified as crucial big game winter range and designated by Public Land Order 155 to be managed in conjunction with the Greys River Wildlife Habitat Management Area.

IMPLEMENTATION:

  1. This Order will be in effect when signed and shall remain in effect until April 30, 2029 or rescinded, whichever occurs first.

     

  2. Any violation of this prohibition is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000.00 for individuals, and $ 10,000.00 for organizations and/or imprisonment for not more than six (6) months. [Title 16 USC 551, Title 18 USC 3571(b)(6), Title 18 USC 3581 (b)(7)].

     

  3. Order supersedes any previous orders prohibiting the same acts covered by this Order.
