Bridger-Teton National Forest Offers Firewood Permits 

Western Wyo., May 15, 2025—Personal use firewood permits are available as of May 15, 2025 on the Bridger-Teton National Forest. The price per cord is $7.00, with a minimum purchase of five cords for $35.00. The maximum amount of firewood that may be purchased by each household is ten cords.  

Alternatively, individuals can order their firewood permit over the phone and have it mailed directly to them. One can accomplish this by calling a district office and providing the required information. Once delivered, the purchaser is then required to sign and date their permit to finalize the process prior to collecting firewood. 

All forest off-road travel restrictions apply and will be enforced, thus requiring each firewood gatherer to know where they are and be mindful of any current travel restrictions.
