Sheffield Trailhead

The Sheffield Trailhead is located near the south entrance of Yellowstone National Park. The trail itself is 6.0 miles long and accesses the north western portion of Teton Wilderness. It begins at Grand Teton National Park and ends at Jct with Trail #6030 (Rodent Creek). The trail is open for the following uses: Hiking, Horseback Riding, and Backpacking. Along this route, visitors can stop by the Huckleberry Fire Lookout for some great views of the eastern aspect of the Tetons.

Directions

Starting from Moran, Wyoming (located 27 miles south of Yellowstone National Park’s south entrance and 19 miles north of the Town of Moose, Wyoming), head west on United States (US) Highway 26/287 for approximately 0.2 miles. Turn right onto US 89/191/287, following said road for approximately 24 miles. Make a right onto Forest Service Road 30504 and continue on for 0.5 miles. Sheffield Trailhead is located to the left.
