Turpin Meadow Trailhead
The Turpin Meadow Trailhead is located on the Buffalo Valley Road, approximately 9 miles from Highway 26 or via Forest Road 30050. This trail is the primary access to the Teton Wilderness and is the starting point for many guided trips into Yellowstone Meadows, Parting of the Waters National Landmark, and Hawks Rest. It also offers nearby fishing opportunities on the designated scenic Buffalo River. There is a high density of Grizzly Bears in this area, it is therefore highly recommended that visitors carry bear spray while hiking or riding. There is also a campground adjacent to the trailhead equipped with corrals, potable water, and a vault restroom.
