Teton Canyon Campground

Teton Canyon Campground is nestled along the banks of Teton Creek in beautiful Teton Canyon, about 11 miles east of Driggs, Idaho. Situated within the Caribou-Targhee National Forest’s Teton Basin Ranger District, this campground rests at an elevation of 6,500 feet, accessible by traveling east on Ski Hill Road from Driggs for 3.5 miles, continuing on Alta Road for 2 miles, then following Teton Canyon Road for 5 miles.

Natural Features: The campground is cradled by a forest of pine, spruce, fir, and occasional aspen, offering partial shade, while its southern loop opens to grassy meadows dotted with summer wildflowers. Moose and deer wander the area, their presence a quiet testament to the canyon’s wild heart, framed by the towering Teton Range.

Trails spill out from the campground, leading hikers and backpackers to Alaska Basin and Table Mountain in the Jedediah Smith Wilderness, with horseback riding nearby at a horse transfer facility. Teton Creek tempts anglers with brook and Yellowstone cutthroat trout, while Grand Targhee Resort—just 11 miles away—hosts music festivals and lift-served trails.

Facilities: The campground offers 13 single-family sites and two equestrian sites, each equipped with picnic tables, campfire rings, grills, and bear-proof food lockers. Vault toilets, drinking water, and trash collection are available, with firewood for purchase on-site. Roads and parking spurs are gravel, accommodating RVs up to 40 feet, though there’s no host or electricity.
