US Forest Service has posted a WARNING ADVISORY at Panguitch Lake and White Bridge Campground
BE CAREFUL: A harmful algal bloom is present at Panguitch Lake and White Bridge Campground. Algae in the water may be producing dangerous toxins that can make humans and animals sick. Be aware the bloom is also flowing downstream from the dam.
If you visit the reservoir:
- Don’t drink the water
- Do not swim or water ski
- Avoid areas of algae when boating
- Clean fish well and discard skin and guts appropriately
- Keep animals away
- Know how to recognize a harmful algal bloom

Panguitch Lake is situated at an elevation of 8,212 feet approximately 18 miles southwest of Panguitch, Utah. The lake is the source of Panguitch Creek and is fed by three small inlet streams: Blue Springs Creek, Clear Creek, and Ipson Creek. The lake is a popular fishing lake with rainbow, brook, cutthroat, and brown trout thriving in its cool waters. There are two public boat ramps and a fish cleaning station.
There are accommodations in the town of Panguitch Lake as well as 2 Forest Service operated campgrounds near the lake, Panguitch Lake South Campground and Panguitch Lake North Campground.
