Comanche Trail

The trail leaves the Trailhead via an old dirt road to an old irrigation ditch from pioneer times. This trail then enters the canyon and stays pretty flat until you get to the Comanche spring. The canyon narrows and the trail steepens from here. Enjoy the shade of the maple filled canyon and the pools of the seasonal creek before heading out and up. There are several creek crossings along this trail that can be difficult depending on season and rain/snow pack from that year. As you exit the canyon the landscape opens up and the old Comanche cabin comes into view. As you continue on the trail, you'll have amazing views of Kolob Canyon and New Harmony Valley. The trail ends at the junction with Summit trail at the Big Water stock reservoir. Continue on Summit for a longer adventure or turn around and go out the way you came.
