Indian Creek Trailhead

Overview
Indian Creek Trailhead is located on the Beaver Ranger District. Indian Creek Trail #054 is a horse and foot trail that can be accessed from here. The trail heads north approximately 20 miles until you reach the Cove Creek Trailhead. Along the way you will come along numerous side trails that head east into the Tushar Mountains. *The Indian Creek #054 trail, and the Cove Creek #054 trail are the same trail. Access to this area is available via the Pole Creek road FR-589. The lower portion of Indian Creek Road FR-119 is now open and failing culverts have been repaired through cooperation with Beaver County. Trailers are not advised through Pole Creek.

Facilities
A vault toilet restroom is available 0.2 miles east of the trailhead. The bathroom can be found along Indian Creek Road (FR-119), located near Manderfield Reservoir. 
 

General Information

June - November

  • Overnight camping is prohibited at the trailhead.
  • Pack out all trash and follow leave no trace principles.
  • All OHVs are required to be registered and display a permit or sticker for riding on public lands.
  • Yield to hikers, horses and non-motorized users.
  • Indian Creek Trail is closed to all motorized vehicles, including Electric Bikes (E-bikes). Trail #054 is a foot and horse trail only.  

No fees are required for this site

  • Pets must be leashed at all times within this recreation area. This policy is in place to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visitors and to protect wildlife.
  • Clean up dog waste and dispose of it properly.
  • Keep dogs from chasing, harassing, and disturbing wildlife, livestock or other visitors.
  • Yield to other hikers, horses, and other trail users by stepping off the trail and controlling your dog.

Directions

The Indian Creek trailhead is located approximately 18.7 miles northeast of Beaver Utah. Travel north from Beaver, Utah for approximately 1 mile and turn right onto Highway 357 for 2.4 miles. Continue straight on Manderfield Road for 4.4 miles. Turn right onto the Indian Creek road for 4.7 miles. Continue straight as the road becomes FR119 for 6.2 miles.  

Travel Considerations

Only street legal vehicles per Utah state law. Exceptions are ATVs can access the Forest Road #119, Indian Creek Trail, between the Forest Road #5889, Pole Canyon Trail, to the Forest Road #1129, Twitchell Canyon Trail. Below the Forest Road #589, Pole Canyon Trail, and above the Forest Road #1129, Twitchell Canyon Trail, ATV travel is prohibited.

  • Please stay on designated trails.
  • Use certified weed-free hay to prevent the spread of invasive plant species.
  • Tie horses to trees in a way that won't damage the tree
