Monrovian Park Picnic Area

Overview
Monrovian Park Picnic Area is a day use area available for groups and individuals. The site is located 4 miles from Monroe Utah. Caution: Access to this canyon is via a narrow, one-lane road. Please reduce your speed and remain alert for oncoming vehicles, OHVs, and pedestrians.

Facilities
Facilities include three group sites and five single sites, parking, picnic tables, fire circles, utility tables, group grills, and vault restrooms. 

Natural Features
Monrovian Park Picnic Area is located in a beautiful canyon filled with jagged rocks, shady trees, and a creek flowing through.

Recreation
Stream fishing is available in the adjacent creek. Both short and long hiking trails can be enjoyed. Be cautious since rattle snakes can also be found in the canyon. Please pack-out what you pack-in. Monrovian Park is for day use only and sites are not reservable. It's a first come, first serve picnic area. See restrictions tab for more information.

General Information

March - November

Day use only - No overnight camping

  • Day use only.
  • No overnight camping allowed.
  • Follow local fire restrictions and fully extinguish campfires before leaving.
  • Please refrain from cutting or breaking branches around dispersed campsites. Kindly bring your own firewood to help preserve the natural environment and camping experience.
  • Pack out all trash and follow leave no trace principles.
  • Yield to hikers, horses and non-motorized users.

No fees are required for this site

  • Pets must be leashed at all times within this recreation area. This policy is in place to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visitors and to protect wildlife.
  • Clean up dog waste and dispose of it properly.
  • Keep dogs from chasing, harassing, and disturbing wildlife, livestock or other visitors
  • Yield to other hikers, horses, and other trail users by stepping off the trail and controlling your dog

Directions

Monrovian Park Picnic Site is 4 miles southeast from Monroe Utah. From the junction of Main Street and Center Street in Monroe, head south on main Street for 0.8 miles. Follow the road as it turns left and becomes the Monroe Canyon Road (FR078) for 2.8 miles. Turn left onto FR161 for 0.2 miles to the park. See link below for google map directions.

  • Horse trailer parking is available at the Monrovian Trailhead.
  • Stay on designated trails.
  • Use weed-free hay to prevent the spread of invasive plant species.
  • Tie horses to trees in a way that won't damage the tree.
