Hunter Creek Transfer Camp

Located 20 miles northwest of Fairfield through Cow Creek Reservoir on Road No. 055, the campground offers 3 single camping units, and 1 multi-family unit.  Corrals, mangers and barrier free stock loading ramps are available along with restrooms.  No water is available.  The trailhead for the North Fork Lime Creek Trail No. 044 is located at the north end of the campground and connects with the Virginia Gulch Trail No. 037.

Standard operating season is May - October but can be seasonally dependent.

This is a no-charge campground.

A paved parking lot ends at a concrete sidewalk that leads to the an office building with a stone and wood facade. A stand of trees flanks the building on the left and provides a backdrop for the trapezoidal sign extending from a stone base. The sign reads Fairfield Ranger District in brown text on a gold background on the top third and Sawtooth National Forest in gold text on a brown background on the bottom two-thirds. A flagpole appears in a grassy area between the sign and the building entrance.
