Monte Cristo Campground

Monte Cristo Campground is located 30 miles east of Huntsville, Utah.  ​This campground is at the highest elevation in the Ogden District at 9,000 feet. Individual campsites are surrounded by spruce and Douglas fir stands, adding their fresh scent to the clear, cool air. 

Visitors enjoy exploring the local trails via hiking, biking, horseback riding and off-road vehicle riding. (Horses are not allowed within the campground and you must trailer your ATV one mile or more). The drive along scenic Highway 39 through wildflower-filled meadows and beautiful forests is spectacular.  Summer wildflowers are plentiful and autumn leaves put on a spectacular show. Sugar Pine Creek is nearby.

This campground has sites that remain open through the elk and deer hunting season.

General Information

This campground is open seasonally and operated by a Concessionaire. Restrooms are available during the open season. This campground typically has water available. For the most current conditions about this campground and amenities available please refer to recreation.gov. 

Horses are restricted within this campground but are legal in the dispersed campsites north of the campground. (Riding horses or ATVs - must trailer 1 mile or more to ATV; primitive Sugarpine Hiking Trail east of campground.) Quiet hours are 10:00 pm - 8:00 am.

Overnight Use:
Single Site: $27.95 per night
Group Site: $262.35 per night ( 1-100 people)

Directions

From Huntsville, Utah -- Travel State Route 39 (SR 39) towards Woodruff, Utah.  The road signs on SR 39 in the Ogden Valley say "Monte Cristo".  This is the name of the general area.  The campground is on the north side of the general Monte Cristo area.

Watch for the campground sign along the east side the road.
