South Fork Campground

South Fork Campground is located adjacent to the South Fork of the Ogden River approximately 7 miles east from Huntsville, Utah. This scenic campground is situated among cottonwoods and willow. Moose and deer occasionally wander through the campground.

This campground has gravel spurs and roads, cement table pads, fire rings. An on-site Campground Host is in site 21 near the entrance. Firewood is available for purchase from the host.

Campers love this area for its great river access. Popular local recreation activities include fishing, swimming, and tubing down the South Fork Ogden River (a life jacket is required for all tubers). Several hiking and mountain biking trails begin in the area.

Nearby Attractions

Causey Reservoir is a scenic mountain lake that is located approximately four miles east of this campground. It offers great canoeing and fishing, as well as access to hiking, biking and horseback riding trails.

Beautiful Ogden Valley has numerous boating, fishing, hiking, horseback and off-road vehicle riding and scenic driving opportunities. Pineview Reservoir is a short drive from the campground. It is a popular area for boating, fishing, and swimming.

Highway 39 continues on to Monte Cristo Summit with sweeping mountain views. Off-highway vehicle and hiking trails are abundant in the area.

General Information

This campground is open seasonally and operated by a Concessionaire. Restrooms are available during the open season. This campground typically has water available. For the most current conditions about this campground and amenities available please refer to recreation.gov. 

South Fork Recreation complex has 7 campgrounds along the South Fork of the Ogden River. The campgrounds are Magpie, Botts, South Fork, Perception Park Family, Upper and Lower Meadows, and Willows in order from west to east.

This campground is open from 8:00 am - 10:00 pm.  The gate with a tire-ripper exit is closed each night at 10 pm.

7 day stay limit

Quiet hours is 10:00 pm - 8:00 am. Gate is locked at 10:00 pm.

Single Site: $27.72 per night
Double Site: $54.45 per night

Directions

South Fork is located approximately 7 miles east of Huntsville, Utah, on Highway 39. From Ogden travel east on 12th Street through Ogden Canyon. Continue on Highway 39 toward Monte Cristo.
