For further information about the Lone Peak Wilderness and Leave No Trace, please go to http://www.wilderness.net/ and Search Lone Peak.

The Lone Peak Wilderness was established by Congress in 1977 with the purpose of keeping the area in a pristine state. In order to protect the resources of this special area, some regulations have been made:

  • No mechanized or motorized equipment (including mountain bikes).
  • Group size limit of 15 but 8 or less is recommended.
  • No shortcutting trail switchbacks.
  • Campfires and wood gathering for fires are discouraged.
