South Fork of Little Deer Creek Trail #252

The South Fork of Little Deer Creek#242 is an enjoyable 3.5-mile trail that travels from the Summit TH to the ridge trail. This trail links several loop routes that can be used to visit different areas around Pleasant Grove Ranger District. The trail moves through aspens, firs, and open meadows, with views of Mount Timpanogos along the way. A reroute in the vicinity of the Cascade Springs road was recently performed to aid the sustainability of the trail, and users should follow the new route as the old route is now closed.

There are a number of blind-turns along the trail, so riders should keep to a reasonable speed to prevent both injuries and resource damage. This trail is subject to a wet trail closure order during the spring and early summer. These closures help to protect and sustain trails during wet periods. The trail will be signed as closed to all uses except hiking when these closures are in effect. This trail crosses both the Alpine Loop and Cascade Springs roads. Caution should be used while on, or adjacent to, any road.
