Copper Fire Fuelbreaks Maintenance Project

The Angeles National Forest, Santa Clara Mojave Rivers Ranger District, is seeking public comment on a proposal to maintain existing "backbone" fuelbreaks located primarily on ridgetops within the Sierra Pelona Mountains north of the City of Santa Clarita, CA. The directly affected project area is approximately 1,223 acres. Treatment methods include removal of vegetation by mechanical, manual (by hand), and prescribed fire methods.
