West Fork Fishing Access Fishing Site

West Fork Fishing Access provides anglers with a peaceful and scenic spot to fish along the West Fork of the San Gabriel River. Surrounded by lush forest and diverse wildlife, this site offers excellent opportunities to catch Trout. Whether you’re fly fishing or casting from the shore, the serene waters and natural beauty make for a relaxing outdoor experience. 

Please note: The area between the 2nd bridge (approx. 1.5 miles up river) and Cogswell Dam is strictly catch & release (limit zero), and NO BAIT OF ANY KIND is allowed. Only artificial flies or lures with barbless hook's are permitted in this area. 

Be sure to follow all local fishing regulations and pack out what you pack in to help preserve this pristine area.

General Information

Day use hours are 6 am to 10 pm.

Fishing requires a California state fishing license. CDFW Fishing License Website.

Know Fire & Other Restrictions Before You Go!: These conditions can affect your entire trip. For example, Extreme and Critical fire use restrictions mean no campfires and no portable cooking systems/stoves. Bring cold food and no S'mores.

Day Use:
$5 per vehicle per day
$30 per annual

Dogs must be on leash.

36 CFR 261.8 (d) Possessing a dog not on a leash or otherwise confined. 

$150 fine
