At the Mono Basin National Forest Scenic Area Visitor Center, view exhibits on Mono Lake history, wildlife, geology, and explore the interpretive trail.
Purchase Interagency passes, obtain California campfire permits and firewood collection permits. Passes and permits are available at the visitor center on Sunday and Monday only 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Visit https://www.recreation.gov/permits/233262 for Wilderness Permits. Please print your Wilderness permit prior to your trip, the visitor center can print permits on Sunday and Monday only 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Our partners at Sierra Forever operate the bookstore, with a comprehensive selection of books and maps of the region. Revenue from sales of these items helps support interpretative programs. Bear canisters can be rented at the Sierra Forever Bookstore each day 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
