Cottonwood Pass Walk in Campground
Located in the Horseshoe Meadow Recreation Area this trailhead campground has 18 walk-in sites suitable for backpackers and hikers to use the night before they are going to hike into Golden Trout Wilderness. Self-register when you arrive. Sites include food storage boxes, tent pads, tables, fire rings, potable water, and toilet facilities. Plan ahead, there is no cell service at this campground.

General Information
Historically, there has been a high level of bear activity in the Horseshoe Meadow area. A bear-proof locker is located at each site at Cottonwood Pass Walk in Campground. All food and scented items must be stored in the lockers. All trash must be disposed of in the bear proof trash receptacles. Do not store food, trash or scented items in your vehicle.
Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.
- One night stay limit at campgrounds.
- Campfires only in metal fire rings provided
- Wood gathering is prohibited
- Active bear area, bear boxes are provided and must be used (typical bear box size 48" x 30" x 36")

Single Site: $22 per night
Dogs must be leashed in all developed recreation sites.

Directions
Located at the end of Horseshoe Meadow Road, 24 miles southwest of the town of Lone Pine, California. From center of Lone Pine, turn west at the stoplight and follow Whitney Portal Road for 3 miles. Then turn south onto Horseshoe Meadow Road.
