Poleta Canyon OHV Area

Poleta OHV area includes short trails and single tracks as well as a dirt bowl.  Shooting sports are prohibited in the developed day use area.

This 2,500 acre area is managed jointly by the Forest and the Bishop Area BLM office for cross-country, or open motorized vehicle travel.  Many of the roads and trails link to adjacent routes managed by the Bureau of Land Management .

General Information

All OHV's must have a California green or red sticker or be street legal. All vehicles must be equipped with a Forest Service approved spark arrester.

Shooting sports are prohibited in this developed day use area.  Dispersed camping is permitted.  Valid California campfire permits are required to use a campstove, a bar-b-que or have a campfire. Campfire permit application online at www.preventwildfireca.org
