Starkweather Lake

Rainbow Trout are present in this lake named for a miner in the area in the 1920's.

Closed in winter. Open seasonally, depending on road and weather conditions.

General Information

Day use only, sunrise to sunset.

This is an active bear area. Secure all food and trash. Be Bear Aware! Campers may drive into Reds Meadow Valley; however an amenity fee applies.

Visitors to Reds Meadow Valley pay a transportation fee which allows use of the mandatory shuttle bus. Call Mammoth Lakes Welcome Center for more shuttle information. (760)924-5500.

Dogs must be leashed in all developed recreation sites.
