Scott Mountain Trailhead

Trailhead is at Scott Mountain Summit where the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail crosses Highway 3, southeast of Callahan.  The PCT passes through the Scott Mountain Botanical Area at this point.

Accessible but trails may be snow covered.

General Information

Check the current fire restrictions and obtain a Calfornia Campfire Permit.  Wilderness permits are required in the Trinity Alps Wilderness for overnight stays for hikers headed west from the trailhead.  Permits can be obtained by visiting Forest Service offices on both the Klamath National Forest and the Shasta-Trinity National Forest.
