Caribou Lake Trailhead

Wilderness trailhead at eastern boundary of Caribou Wilderness.  Access via Silver Lake Road or 10 Road to Caribou Lake.  Serves as primary wilderness access.  Parking for 20 vehicles and bulletin board provided.  Small boats may be launched into Caribou Lake from trailhead when lake levels allow.

The Caribou Wilderness is open year-round.

Day use only; no overnight camping allowed

No permit required for Caribou Wilderness.

  • Campfires in fire rings only, subject to fire restrictions
  • California Campfire Permit required
  • Pack out your trash
  • Vehicles and mechanized equipment prohibited in the Caribou Wilderness
