Ides Cove Horsepacker Trailhead

May 2024: Access via the M2 and M22 is passable, some small snow drifts and road is wet and slick from mud. 2 new corrals installed in 2023.  Trails cleared last year include the 9W01 Trail going north towards to the Shasta Trinity National Forest and the southern portion of the 9W04 Trail to Square Lake. However much of the trail system still needs a lot of maintenance. This area has burned in a recent fire. Downed trees, dropped limbs, stump holes and unstable terrain may be present. Trails may not be cleared. Avoid parking under dead standing trees.
