Radford Fire Closure Area
Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(a) & (b), and to provide for public safety, the following act is prohibited within the San Bernardino National Forest. This Order is effective from February 26, 2025, through December 31, 2026.
- Entering or being in the Radford Fire Closure Area, as shown on Exhibit A and described in Exhibit B. 36 C.F.R. § 261.52(e).
- Being on any National Forest System Roads within the Radford Fire Closure Area, as shown on Exhibit A and listed below:
Forest System Road 2N06 (Radford Truck Trail), 2N10 (Mill Creek), 2N10D (Snow Summit), and 2N21 (Sugarlump). 36 C.F.R. § 261.54 (e).
Being on any National Forest System trails within the Radford Fire Closure Area, as shown on Exhibit A and listed below:
Forest Trail 1E12 (Skyline Trail), 1E29 (Pirates), and 1E30 (Fall Line). 36 C.F.R. § 261.55(a).
Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:
- Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 (Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas Restricted by Regulation or Order), specifically exempting them from this Order.
- Any federal, state, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire-fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
- Any Forest Service volunteer with a valid Volunteer Service Agreement (OF301a or OF301b) performing an official duty.
This prohibition is in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 C.F.R. Part 261, Subpart A.
A violation of this prohibition is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or both.
