      Forest Order No. 05-12-52-24-06

    Radford Fire Closure Area

Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(a) & (b), and to provide for public safety, the following act is prohibited within the San Bernardino National Forest. This Order is effective from February 26, 2025, through December 31, 2026.

  1. Entering or being in the Radford Fire Closure Area, as shown on Exhibit A and described in Exhibit B. 36 C.F.R. § 261.52(e).
  2. Being on any National Forest System Roads within the Radford Fire Closure Area, as shown on Exhibit A and listed below:

Forest System Road 2N06 (Radford Truck Trail), 2N10 (Mill Creek), 2N10D (Snow Summit), and 2N21 (Sugarlump). 36 C.F.R. § 261.54 (e).

  1. Being on any National Forest System trails within the Radford Fire Closure Area, as shown on Exhibit A and listed below:

    Forest Trail 1E12 (Skyline Trail), 1E29 (Pirates), and 1E30 (Fall Line). 36 C.F.R. § 261.55(a).

Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:

  1. Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 (Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas Restricted by Regulation or Order), specifically exempting them from this Order.
  2. Any federal, state, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire-fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
  3. Any Forest Service volunteer with a valid Volunteer Service Agreement (OF301a or OF301b) performing an official duty.

 

This prohibition is in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 C.F.R. Part 261, Subpart A.

 

A violation of this prohibition is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or both.
