Pinyon Flat Campground

Pinyon Flat is an 18-site first-come first-served campground located within the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument. Surrounded by a tranquil desert landscape and nearby Santa Rosa Wilderness Area, this campground is great for those who like to hike, especially when the springtime flowers are in bloom.

Campfires are currently prohibited by Forest Order.  This includes Wood and Charcoal Fires.  Campers may use propane or similar fueled cook stoves with a on/off valve.  

Pinyon Trail 5E03 is located on the western side of the campground.

Current Conditions
3/15/2025, wood/charcoal fires or barbecues are ONLY allowed in Forest Service provided rings/grills. Gas/Propane appliances are permitted with a valid CA Campfire permit. NOT PERMITTED: ground fires or building of rock-fire-rings anywhere on Southern CA Forests.

General Information

$8 per site, includes one vehicle.  Additional $5 for each additional vehicle.
