SONORA, California, (Apr 16, 2025) – In an effort to slow the spread of Golden Mussel (Limnoperna fortunei) the boat ramp at Beardsley Lake will be closed until further notice. Once work on the boat ramp is complete, expected later today, Forest Service Road 5N02 on the Highway 108 side will be open to the public.
For further clarification on current road closures, please reference Forest Service Order STF-16-2025-04 available on the forest website at https://www.fs.usda.gov/detailfull/stanislaus/alerts-notices/?cid=fseprd1102255
“Given the data we currently have about the Golden Mussel, we are making the decision to close the boat ramp until more information about this invasive species is learned,” said Acting Forest Supervisor, Jim Junette. “We’d like to thank our partners at Tri-Damn is assisting us with this effort.”
