Trout Lake

Trout Lake is a narrow 8.0-acre lake that sits 3,000’ elevation. Take the 5.2-mile hike through Lily and Emerald Lake for outstanding views of Hoodoo Canyon. There is a primitive boat launch. In addition to fishing, visitors can camp, hike, and canoe.

Current Conditions
Access to Yellow flag-iris and reed canary grass are along the shoreline, along with duckweed in the water. Seeds from these plants may attach to boats and boat trailers.  All of these plants can choke out native species and make swimming and boating difficult.

General Information

Trout Lake campers can look forward to 5 campsites with picnic tables, fire pits, tent pads and a vaulted toilet is available. Drinking water and garbage disposal are not provided. These are private sites away from the main road. Camping is first come, first served.

There is a well-maintained gravel boat launch on the southeast end of the lake. There’s also an 8 x 24’ fishing dock with a 3’ wide ramp and a rope ladder that extends into the water. Electric engines are allowed although internal combustion engines are prohibited. Methods of fishing along the shore or by boat include: fly, spin and bait. Two-pole fishing is allowed. Anglers can find rainbow trout here as fry are stocked annually. Below are a few photos of the ramp access and fishing dock.
