East Lake Campground

Most sites in this campground are either on the lake or no more than a couple minute walk away. There are opportunities for bird watching, bicycling, sightseeing and boating. There are nearby hikes into the lava rock and close by waterfalls.

Water System The water system will be turned on in the month of May depending on weather conditions and will be turned off no later than September 30, or upon the campground closing, whichever is earlier, to prevent potential damage from cold temperatures.

General Information

Tentative Opening: June 13, 2025 - October 19, 2025

Visit Recreation.gov for current operating dates and to make a reservation. This campground will be closing at noon on October 19, 2025, and the last night to reserve a campsite is October 18, 2025. This campground will become First Come, First Serve (FF on Recreation.gov) only starting October 1, until closing date.

  • Camping: 50% discount for single site camping with any of these passes: Interagency Senior, Interagency Access, Golden Age, or Golden Access.
  • Day use: Recreation Passes may be used as a form of fee payment.
  • Maximum site spur length is 40 feet.
  • The water system will be turned on in the month of May depending on weather conditions and will be turned off no later than September 30, or upon the campground closing, whichever is earlier, to prevent potential damage from cold temperatures.

Overnight Use:
Single Site: $20 per night
Additional Vehicle Fee: $9 per vehicle per night

  • Single Campsite Rate: $27/night
  • One vehicle included with reservation – Each Additional Vehicle: $10.00
  • NOTE: Holders of a Golden Age and Golden Access Passports and Senior and Access Passes are entitled to the following discounts on expanded amenity recreation fees: -  A 50 percent discount on the fee for a single camping unit. This discount does not apply to use of a cabin, lookout, double camping unit, triple camping unit, group camping unit, extra vehicle fees, or any additional camping units and separately charged utility, water, hook-up or day use fees.
  • Day Use: $5/vehicle/day at East Lake Boating
