Trailhead: Crest Camp

This trailhead provides easy access to good hiking and horseback riding on the Pacific Crest Trail #2000 which runs north from the trailhead to Indian Heaven Wilderness and south past the Big Lava Bed. 

Parking for about 10 vehicles. Amenities include picnic table, information board, and vault toilet. No potable water.

General Information

Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.

Recreation Passes may be used as a form of fee payment. 

  • Only one back-in is allowed at this site. Others can park on the road.
  • Motorized vehicles & bicycles prohibited on Pacific Crest Trail.

Day Use:
$5 per vehicle per day
$30 per annual

Directions

From Carson, Washington drive north for 4.8 miles on Wind River Highway to Panther Creek Road. Take a right on Panther Creek Road at the sign for Panther Creek Campground. Stay on this road, which becomes Forest Road 65 at the forest boundary, for approximately 11 miles. At the intersection with Forest Road 60, take a right onto Forest Road 60. Travel about 1.7 miles on Forest Road 60 to the campground and Pacific Crest Trail access.
