Trail #33 Indian Heaven
This Trail Open to Hiker and Equestrian Use.
From the trailhead at Cultus Creek Campground this 3.3-mile trail climbs steeply through heavy timber into Indian Heaven Wilderness. The trail ascends 1000 feet in 2 miles. The grade eases as the trail skirts the base of Bird Mountain. At 5,100 feet elevation, the trail passes through several small meadows with spectacular wildflower displays. The trail passes Deep Lake Trail #33A, a short side trail that descends to Deep Lake, then continues to a saddle viewpoint below Lemei Rock. The main trail continues past the shore of Cultus Lake, then drops down to end on the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail #2000 near Deer Lake.
Connect this trail with Cultus Creek Trail #108 via the Pacific Crest Trail #2000 to make a popular loop.
Features include abundant huckleberries and views of Mt. Rainier, the Goat Rocks, Sawtooth Mountain, and Sleeping Beauty.

Low elevation trails typically melt out by mid-May. High elevation trails typically melt out by mid-July. Snow may persist in spots on north facing slopes. There may be downed trees, washouts, and/or landslides on trails. Carrying mosquito repellent is advisable. Backcountry creeks and streams may dry out so plan ahead in case you need to bring in water. Recreating in burned areas poses greater risks. See safety tips for burned areas. Directions
Trail can be accessed from the trailhead at Cultus Creek Campground (Forest Road 24) or Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail #2000.
