Trail #69 Three Peaks

This trail is open to hiker and horse use only.

The trail follows an abandoned road for half a mile. The trail then leaves the road to the right and climbs through dense forest for 3 miles until it intersects with a timber harvest area. After another half mile, the trail enters the Goat Rocks Wilderness. The trail takes you to an excellent viewpoint of Packwood Lake before its junction with Packwood Lake Trail #78 near Mosquito Lake.

Current Conditions
Trail route is through the Goat Rocks Fire (2022) burn scar. Crews have completed logging and are working to repair tread through the burn area. Trail is well flagged through the burn area. After the burn the trail enters a bottom where there is much brush, is hard to follow, and is flagged for users in either direction at critical points.

There may be downed trees, washouts, and/or landslides on trails. Carrying mosquito repellent is advisable. Backcountry creeks and streams may dry out so plan ahead in case you need to bring in water.  Recreating in burned areas poses greater risks. See safety tips for burned areas.
